BBA (53,484) by Abraham from USA
I didn't watch last night's show. But I saw some clips from YouTube and think Mariah did fairly well. Her voice sounded rich and deeper with "VOL". I wanted her to belt but liked the the long run she held at the end. I do wish she would have sang the whole entire song though. [censored] She gave more on American Idol's finale, but oh well. As many here know I don't care for "Infinity". I have to say she looked nice too.

Another Infinity preview (53,483) by Jono from USA
I just saw a clip on YouTube where she previews another clip on Ellen. Looks like the fine Mr. Tyson Beckford is going to be in it, and there's the classic humor in a Brett Ratner/Mariah Carey video. You just know that the press is going to wildly speculate that Tyson is an obvious reference to her ex, but that's good because it will keep people talking. And that's what this week is all about, and I'm so excited for Mariah's appearances on Ellen, Jimmy, and Kelly & Michael which are big talk shows. Promotion is on point. The BBMA was a success because it wasn't Rockefeller. Of course us hardcore fans know that Mariah sounded way better in Vegas, but the general public (and news articles) have praised Mariah's performance. Also, any "news" site that takes Twitter users as serious music critics are a complete joke. The little kids are making fun of Mariah's high notes because none of their AutoTune faves can sing more than an octave or two. It was so mindblowing to them that this is how talent sings/sounds like that they simply can not process how their favorite punching bag came swinging right back. Keep in mind Mariah could have easily pretaped a perfectly pitched performance, using her Vegas show that evening as an excuse, but she showed up, sang mostly live, and ended it on a high note. Literally.

She will be fine (53,482) by Cgee54 from Usa
I'm for one glad she still has a voice. Her voice will recover just like it did back in 2001 (Charmbracelet to TEOM). Sadly enough she can't really take a long break to help her voice heal because she's already 45 years old and let face it it's tougher for a woman to achieve success in the radio at an older age. She will be okay and I'm sure MC is doing everything possible to help preserve her voice.

#1 To Infinity is still rising (53,479) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
Mariah Carey should start shoving the album down people's throats by promoting this album as much as possible because the album continues to rise faster than MIAMTEC did. The album is 26 (+3) on Amazon and 38 (+10) on iTunes. It's still 14 (-2+1) in the UK iTunes. This is really a relief because Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel are still to come. Mariah is currently trending in the UK searches and I still expect her to rise in sales with the upcoming promotion later.

Mariah live (53,477) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So much was discussed about the BBMAs that last night's Vegas show for her residency went by unnoticed. What I heard from the reviews, last night she was vocally at her best at her show. She took risks, improvised and sang her heart out. This shows that left with her true fans, Mariah is confident exploring her range and capability. Which also proves that she can still sing her ass of. Now the only thing she needs to do is take this to the GP. I understand her hesitation. Her last few performances have been ripped apart for her vocal mishaps, claims of lip-synching and all that jazz. So I get why Mariah froze up and decided not to let it all out when she was at the BBMAs. She was scared, she was genuinely nervous. She isn't afraid of taking risks in front of her fans and that's why her Vegas shows are getting such rave reviews. Mariah, no pressures, I just want you to slowly and steadily work on your self confidence and be the crazy Mariah we saw jump around on the Grammy's stage in 2006 and the VH1 ILT performance (with that orange flowy dress) where she dived, well ok not dived, but got right in the middle of the audience and danced around while singing. I know it will take a little time, but I am willing to wait, because I know she can do it. Now is a crucial time for Mariah. From her side she is trying to give us what we wanted, I think it's time we stand behind her to show our support. Let's overlook slight imperfections for now and show Mariah that she can slay.

Did you guys manage to watch the preview on Ellen? It was hilarious. "Italian lover Frito" made an appearance along with Jussie and Tyson. She looks like her TMB video, with her opening the door and all. It's cute. I can't wait to see the whole thing.

Nothing personal (53,475) by Badr from USA
It's definitely nothing personal, but I find it funny that all of a sudden people feel they have the knowledge and experience to criticize the voice of someone's who's been singing professionally for over a quarter of a century. Comments such as, "doing their best to work with what is left of her voice", are negativity disguised as constructive criticism.

Billboard Music Awards (53,473) by Luke from United Kingdom
That live note at the end. If you listen closely you can hear multiple weaves whistling through the air. Marcus I'm not sure if you're being serious or not? That live note is probably easier for her to do than belting. Have you seen her Instagram videos?

BBMA's / finally (53,472) by Marcus from Brazil
I'm very pleased with the BBMA's performance. Mariah has finally put some effort into lipsyncing convincingly. The lipped high note at the end of "Infinity" didn't sound like it was disconnected and at a different volume from the parts she sung live. Sony is definitely doing their best to work with what is left of her voice. People should stop asking Mariah to be confident when we clearly know her confidence depends on her voice, and she clearly knows her voice is very unpredictable. Seeing her not being able to sing a song like "Vision of Love" has broken my heart. Mariah must be taking something for her voice/health that's making thick and bloated. I'm just happy this Vegas thing is a couple of months for two years. If she could craft a great album for next year, her next Vegas run would be a great time to promote it.

For me she sounded great on VOL, it's just the transition from VOL to Infinity that sounded off, she was still singing and Infinity began playing but I love it overall. She looks gorgeous as ever.

Billboard (53,470) by cherbette from usa
Here is my review on the performance last night. I thought her tone at the beginning of Vision Of Love was rich and deep and beautiful. It's a register she can still easily dominate. The ending was a different matter. I think she over sang it. Why not just it was all that it turned out to be? Two sustained notes would sound so much better than strained runs IMO. I thoroughly enjoyed Infinity. Of course the "close the door" belt at the end and I think even part of the "dream" high note were assisted but looking at the Caesars videos it doesn't seem like that will change.

Did anybody else notice the back up singers doing the air punches after MC nailed that last note? I thought that was cute. Anyway I agree with Ms Mimi L. It was a safe, but respectable performance. I live for the day she performs VOL with the same gusto she had on BET's Blueprint at a major award show and take the crowd to church or fiercly strut through the audience like when she performed ILT on VH1's Save The Music. I believe as she gain her confidence back, she'll go for it more. But, I've been getting my life from all the positive press she's been receiving lately. Yes thank God let's keep this up MC.

Mariah was stunning. I loved her performance. Yes it was not "perfect", but who is perfect anyway? I think our society is too obsessed with being perfect. When she was on stage everyone was watching and there was excitement in the air. You are watching a living legend here people. Others can dance and shake that booty all they want, it doesn't compare to someone with a "real" amazing voice.

#1 To Infinity is doing well (53,465) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
Her album is exceeding my expectataions on both Amazon and iTunes. Since 1am #1 To Infinity has risen further. As of 8:35am Eastern, she currently sits at 29 (+21) on Amazon USA and 45 (+61) on iTunes USA. She is still doing extremely well in the UK since Saturday and has rosen to #13 (+35). Her performance, hate it or love, did wonders for her in mainstream. We still have Ellen and a performance on Jimmy Kimmel, so I expect it to rise even further.

I agree, as usual lol I enjoy reading your posts. We seem to think along the same lines. Without denying the obvious limitations in Mariah's voice, I think her biggest impediment nowadays is her confidence. Having been ripped to pieces after the AIWFCIY performance, it's no surprise she is hesitant. But I do believe she will get there eventually, slowly but surely. She seems to be in a very good place emotionally. I was surprised too that there were people in the audience singing along. I was also surprised by Jennifer Lopez, who seemed respectful and almost nostalgic to see Mariah up there. I'm still not very fond of her, but I'm beginning to respect her for the way she's handling her "relationship" with Mariah.

BBMAs (53,463) by Will from England
Even Mariah breathed a sigh of relief after that high note. Just look at her face post-high note, she's clearly thinking "nailed it, now I can relax". But I think it was a lovely performance, and an touching tribute to her 25 years of being in the business, and nicely encapsulated what her Vegas show is all about: from VOL to Infinity. That's it. As for some comments about her standing still. What's new? She's never been a great mover on stage. She leaves all the movement to her hand and vocal chords. Plus, she was on a high platform, and given what happened last time she was on a high platform, I doubt she would want to take the risk of losing her footing on live TV. Overall thoughts: a solid performance, a couple of shaky moments (the second "is more than just a made up dream" at the end, her breath control was out at that point, but a quick recovery), but a nice re-introduction to all the young people watching the show as to who Mariah Carey is, and why she should be respected.

Mariah did good at the awards. As many have said it wasn't her best, but it wasn't her worst. I appreciate her singing VOL live. I was hoping that the Infinity performance would kind of help me like the song, but that didn't happen. I've never had to work so hard to like a Mariah song in 25 years. I don't even think the video will help this time around. Lol.

BBMAS (53,460) by Darryle from USA
It wasn't Mariah's best performance. She seemed nervous and at times you couldn't hear her. But it did what it was supposed to. Infinity jumped up 800 spots on iTunes and Mariah had to trending tags on twitter. Hopefully it'll shoot up on the Billboard chart now.

Performance (53,458) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I will focus on the positives. First things first, her performance did what it was meant to do. It pulled "Infinity" from being at somewhere around 1100 on iTunes USA and place it into the top 200 in 40 minutes of her performance, it shot "#1 to Infinity" into the top 200 too. Not only that, it gave a huge boost upwards to WBT and "Greatest Hits" (WBT was used in the montage and was labelled song of the decade), so the main point of MC standing there was accomplished. Mariah was on worldwide twitter trends at number 2 (only "#BBMAs" was at number 1), for a long time whereas the much talked about "Bad Blood Video" wasn't even in the top ten. I thought the second ensemble was cute and in some of the shots she looks like 2009 Mariah. I will credit her for going live and so I will excuse the slight shakiness, she could have lipped it with a pre-recorded track completely. But she struggled and made an overall good impact. To my surprise a lot of people actually seemed to know the lyrics to "Infinity". I'll support Mariah, she has not performed on such a big event in a long time. She tried two hard songs and she nailed it. I think the shakiness came more from her being super nervous and scared rather than her inability to sing. She could have hit some notes higher than she did, but you can see in her face that she got nervous and decided not to. She looked terrified and I felt like giving her a hug, it must be difficult to go in front of such a huge audience knowing full well that all eyes were on her to tear her apart because the last performance of hers that anyone heard about was the Rockefeller one. I think as she starts doing more of these shows again, she'll regain her confidence and we might see a Grammy's 2006 moment again. Now let me give some bad moments: I wish MC would do a power walk across the stage (and that runway like thing between the audience) with a dress train flowing behind her while she sang "Infinity", so MC take note for next time. The black dress was not a good choice MC, I'm sorry but the Rita Ora picture dress was so sexy and even edgy. Fire the stylist. Next time, once you finish, give one of thoe Boss-woman expressions you used to give when you killed a performance. If you show you are confident (even though you are not), people will buy it. Overall, I am happy, we can't expect her to fix the damage done to her reputation in 1 performance, but she is getting there. She is rising. She is back.

Infinity video (53,457) by Lee TS from USA
From the sneak peek and knowing what she has filmed so far. I can already kinda guess how the video is going to go. From the closet, to the vanity, then onto the stage in front of a crowd. It's basically her getting ready for a show, look at the difference between the hair and eye makeup. Probably something like the show must go on even though you're gone. Beauty shots upon beauty shots in beauty lighting and loving herself more and more. I just hope it's a good video.
