Re: Another taste of honey (101,266) (101,268) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Continuing from my last post, I wish for Mariah magnum opus album "Butterfly" that we would have a whole documentary attached to it like making of the album, the thought process, the song inspirations, the video concepts. I know she has said details in previous interviews and her book but it'd be nice to have it all in 1 documentary. Or another thing she could have done is have a breakdown of all her videos from the album as almost all the videos from this album was really conceptual with a lot of thought into it (aka not just Mariah touching herself) so I would have loved her do a whole documentary on that. Another taste of honey (101,266) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Just got back from watching the BTS. Firstly Mariah looks stunning but girl what on earth? It was 5 mins long only after all that hype? Honey is easily one of her best videos (Breakdown is #1 though) and it's iconic. There's so much that goes on in the video and the remix video too I was thinking we'd get a scene by scene breakdown and some details behind the looks, the scenes, what does "D.U.N.C.E." stand for. It was only 5 mins long and that includes cutaways to the music video and also a story about how one of the crew got into an accident? Like I understand it's serious and would have made sense in a longer documentary to share but in 5 mins a whole minute was dedicated to that. Anyways. Ok so on another tangent - we all know/suspect that "Honey" is innuendo for bodily fluids but I saw this theory yesterday that the scene where Mariah was dancing with the sailors (or "sea men") was an innuendo of semen around an egg I was dead lol. Also the light fixture behind them was a giant egg shaped one. I wanted tea on that. I don't know if this was talked about when "Honey" originally came out because I was a baby but I legit can't look at the video the same lol. If that was truly the intention then Mariah is a genius. Mariah x Chopard (101,215) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I'm more shook over the Chopard collaboration than the lackluster Butterfly anniversary plan. This collaboration is right on par with Mariah's brand. She also looks so beautiful in the promos with the laid back styling. I can't afford any of it but I sure love seeing Mariah collaborating with big name brands like Chopard and D&G. (Thursday 15 September 2022; 23:57)

They revealed the tracks and they're all live versions from the 90s, 2 DJ remixes and the Brandi collaboration plus the Whenever You Call collab. Since "Butterfly" was such a huge milestone/change for Mariah both personally (leaving Tommy and starting on her), in terms of her songwriting and collaborations , in terms of her image (more revealing, daring, unmatched confidence), in terms of her videos (sexier and more like the way she wanted) and so much more it's clear that "Butterfly" is a huge part of Mariah so for the anniversary I would have hope at least that she did more re-imaginations with popular collaborations since there are no more vault songs. I would have loved a "Honey" with Ariana for example, a Babydoll with say Drake or whatever. (Thursday 15 September 2022; 17:57)

She just left the stage and let Mariah takeover. It was really respectful of her. Also it's so sweet to see Mariah come out to support another up and coming female artist because she really didn't need to come out, because it's been a while since she made a public appearance and when she decided to make one it was to support another artist instead of her own thing. I'm super glad she did it because as a lamb any moment Mariah gets her legend status recognition is a whole event. (Tuesday 28 June 2022; 02:09)

Re: The Roof with Brandy (100,431) (100,435) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Just to avoid any confusion, it's not Angels Advocate that is being released, it's MC Vs JS which has the Jump smokers remixes. Angels Advocate was the other Memoirs remix album with the urban mixes and collabs, which as of now there is no word on it being released. Quite honestly I would prefer AA over the JS remixes. For years, every time there's lack of promo (not that Mariah is responsible for BER promo) from Mariah or a missed opportunity, lambs always say she makes music because she loves making music or that she doesn't want her hit to come from a feature. That is untrue and this isn't even a guess Mariah herself asked fans to make BER her next #1. Latto also pumped it up saying it's be her first and Mariah's 20th #1 and I am sure it's coming from her conversation with Mariah. Let's also not forget Mariah brought Ariana on to OS because Ariana is a monster hit on streaming and has a huge fan base and both fan bases would eat it up. So Mariah definitely cares for a hit, she said so explicitly. And there is nothing wrong with it. I can appreciate her being hungry for success even when she has legend status. And there is nothing wrong with getting it from a feature either. A hit is a hit. (Saturday 21 May 2022; 00:10)

She only puts the butterfly emoji for Mariah. So this tells me either Mariah is going to show up or the remix will be performed. Also BER is the first time in recent times I've seen Mariah promote a song so much. Usually she just drops it and goes into hiding. But this time she talked about it on her insta live, then made that pool snippet of her with BER playing in the background. I would have thought the moment Mariah didn't get credited on BB for 2 consecutive weeks she'd just drop it haha. It's nice to see she's still rooting for it. (Wednesday 20 April 2022; 14:40)

Re: The Roof (When I Feel the Need) (100,175) (100,177) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter "The Roof" is one of Mariah's greatest creations and I thought it was darn near perfect. I didn't know what to expect from the 2022 version but ofcourse Mariah being the freaking genius that she is took perfection and took it to the next level. The new version is gorgeous. The original has a darker atmosphere, more melancholic to match how she was feeling. The new version is lighter, more airy like she's finally in a better place. Both versions great in their own right. The new whistle at the end of "every time" sounds so beautiful. I can't wait until this is on streaming and I hope this gets introduced to the new generation. Brandy did an amazing job backing Mariah up, they both sounds so heavenly together. Can't wait to see what other songs Mariah reimagined for TBL. (Friday 15 April 2022; 20:50)

Stella had absolutely trashed Mariah's image down to being a C list reality star. I thought there was no way Mariah would be able to come out of that. The way her image has been restored in the past few years is a miracle. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm saying Mariah being a grown woman shouldn't be held responsible but people you surround yourself with do influence you. Stella had basically taken a legend and buried her status. I'm glad Mariah is out of that era. As much as I would love Mariah to get credited and the positive news that would generate I don't want that at the expense of her being trashed down again. (Sunday 10 April 2022; 22:05)

Re: Just wondering (100,038) (100,044) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter From what I gather the remix needs to do better than the original for it to include Marian's name on the charts but also the rules are flexible on this (that's about all I know) however yes if it does have Mariah's name, the tally will add to hers. Her subtle backing throughout elevates the whole song and this is why she's pure genius. We've wanting an upbeat song from Mariah for so long glad we got it even if it's a feature. Also I was hearing that in twitter spaces Mariah said she has her own mix of the song. Wonder if that'll get an official release. (Monday 28 March 2022; 18:54)

I would have lived if Mariah rapped along with Latto in parts how she does when she has rappers on her songs. But honestly this song slays. Can't wait to see what they have planned. Mariah was on twitter spaces yesterday and I think she was asked about there being a video and she said something like "You gotta ask RCA. It's like a three prong thing." A three prong thing is usually from what I gather a three part thing. So I don't know what she meant when she says that. But Latto was super confident with the song being a hit so I'm hoping they have plans to promote. (Monday 28 March 2022; 15:32)
