Nick Cannon responds to TMZ (63,049)
by TRAVON AUSTIN from United States
| |
|
|
Before the confusion and bashing begins, I thought it could be avoided [...] letting all the diverse lambs know Nick Cannon responded immediately via twitter. "Nick Cannon at TMZ. Slow news day huh? Going back to the same well. How many times you all going to report this lie? Tell your so called 'sources' to call me." So the source of the divorce has confirmed it's a lie. So they are divorced guys. Lets move on and stop assuming they are not because of tabloids. TMZ is also known to be wrong. Not as much as other tabloids but it still happens with them. He admitted publictly during an interview about never marrying again and that solved the problem for me. They both have moved on with their single lives while co-parenting of course. Everyone needs a reason. Here it is.

What do you think about the news that Nick won't sign the papers for the official divorce? Does he still love Mariah or is it because of James Packer?

I'm here to tell you all that the bass line of "If We" is one of the best of Mariah's catalogue, it fits the beat perfectly and add some funky feeling to the song. Period.

Dear Deedre, I wasn't really addressing your post about Prince. It was just my opinion on the fact that many fans have wanted for Mariah to pull a Prince and go on her own, I think that wouldn't be a good idea. After Prince went his way, with his legend status and all, he didn't actually have any successful album afterwards. It's sad he had to die to find himself back on the charts again. That shouldn't happen to legends like him.

It's been noted for years that her mom didn't like being in a lot of Marian's drama and public stuff. I can understand the logistics and timing of her not being in the 2008 wedding, but her mom was very present in important events during the marriage with the babies, anniversaries and she even used to tweet. Hopefully she is just laying low from all this current publicity, but as I said before, it was sad to see no family presence at Mariah's walk of fame.

Re: Article: Gaga fans start petition to stop Madonna and Mariah (63,031) (63,040)

Again, as with many lambs, the point is completely missed. Mariah didn't deserve that award as it's not a "gay people like you because you sing about inner-pain and where sparkly dresses" award. If you think about a music artist defending and fighting for gay rights you'd likely think of Gaga first. So, the Little Monsters got their little monster knickers in a twist with some over-the-top, pointless b**ching. To be expected, no? It's nothing short of the bleating some of the lambs here do every time another artist is mentioned in the same sentence as Mariah. If you think they sound ridiculous, well, they sound like Little Lambs.

I'm sure I read that Mariah cut Brenda out of her life as Brenda fell on hard times financially and asked Mariah for money, who, obviously, refused. And then Brenda went public. Asking Mariah for money? That's like asking Trump for pearls of wisdom.

I am back / Mariah Carey (63,037)
by TRAVON AUSTIN from United States
| |
|
|
Can I just say that Mariah Carey has been looking great lately, she has her confidence back and she is doing so much to prove to the world that she loves what she does. I understand that fans everywhere, including myself, are skeptical but at the end of the day, we want Mariah Carey to do well. I oftentimes find that every aspect of Mariah Carey's life is misunderstood by the public and fans. Mariah Carey is an individual who has been doing this for over 26 years and she is continuing to do so. She does not have the luxuries that most megastars, her age, had because of the new landscape of the entertainment industry. Despite this ever-changing circumstance of ageism, I have always admired her work ethic and I feel that's her desire to continue to work is under valued. The things that she could have done before she can't do anymore. I'm not saying that she can't do it because she is not able to on her terms. All I'm saying is times have changed and just like the rest of us, Mariah Carey has to adapt to these changes and has to made changes herself. I have noticed that, whenever Mariah Carey chooses not to adapt to changes all she is does is cause confusion and misunderstandings to everyone, including her fans. Even though I have been a fan since 2005, even I acknowledge that there have been many changes not just with Mariah Carey but the entertainment industry at large. There are things that we might not agree on when it comes to Mariah but accepting change is extremely important in any given circumstance. However, I am happy that she is taking a concern with herself and she is aligning her life in the right direction by making changes. It might not be perfect to everyone but it is working, in its own way, for Mariah Carey right now.

TMZ Mariah (63,036)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|
|
So TMZ posted this video on their channel and Harvey is going on and on about how he loves Mariah now. Previously he used to say bad stuff about her. But the thing is Mariah shows just one bit of her real side where people can relate to her and people immediately start praising her and feel like they can relate to her. This is what I keep saying that if Mariah would tone down the diva act and instead show the more real, intelligent and hilarious Mariah, people would fall back in love with her. Defensive fans, no need to get worked up, I said her "real" side because I still believe that buried deep beneath all the diva acts and the expensive gowns she wears to swim (haha joke) there still is the real, down to earth, intelligent and funny Mariah that people can relate to. So I am not telling her to be fake. I'm just show people the real Mariah and they won't be able to help but love her.

She did reference her mother as "the queen of Ireland" in a recent TMZ video, but it is very concerning that they haven't been seen together since 2013. I can't even fathom not speaking to my mother. She wasn't at the engagement, Hollywood Walk of Fame, or Vegas which were all huge enough moments to warrant a mother's visit. Ever since it was revealed that she wasn't in on the secret of her wedding to Nick, I've always questioned the strength of their relationship because it seems like having your mom there would be a non-negotiable. I hope their relationship is or gets healed and restored.

I always enjoy your posts Edward. As far as the JLo and Mariah thing goes, at this point they are both giving it energy in their responses to media outlets, so I'm not expecting it to go away anytime soon. Probably a controversial view here, and I won't go into it too much because this is not a board for the type of discussion but honestly no one is a victim of anything. Whether we know it or not, we unconsciously create our experience by the way we respond to life. Mariah is not a victim. Jennifer is not a victim - they both play a role in how they choose to respond/react. What the world will say one must be "right" and the other must be "wrong". This is how we make sense of things. We categorize them which leads to conflict, division and blame cycle. What if it just is what it is and people left it alone without the "good" or "bad" labels attached? No more attacking Jennifer or Mariah just let them express and respond without the labels? We might think we have the full picture of someone's experience, but we never do. Truly. Lol. I'm not sure if you were addressing my earlier post about Prince Mariah and Marilyn, but I'm not waiting for Mariah to "do anything" or "go the way of anything". I mean sure, I'd love more music but I don't need her to have a hit or be relevant or relocatable to be happy. I love Mariah, her artistic genus inspires me, but I don't pin my happiness on her. My happiness isn't on anything external. That's an inside job. Though Mariah's music does bring me great joy, I actually require nothing of her. That probably sounds strange, oh well. Lol. If it were my choice, I wouldn't touch "reality" stuff with a ten foot poll. But it's not my choice, it's not my business. Mariah is going to do whatever is coming up for her, whether it's viewed as self-destructive or a train-wreck, or whether it's viewed as a constructive career move. We're not in control of any of that. I'm in no place to judge her. Even things that might appear to be damaging or self-sabotage have their purpose in the grand scheme of things.

Nowhere did I say that it was Mariah's fault. I said there was a rumor and if we take the rumor to be true, can or should Mariah be blamed for it? And I answered myself that "no" because she probably didn't know about it or even if she did, she couldn't do anything because she had to do what the suits told her to do. I am surprised people are getting so defensive about how Brenda wasn't talented enough. Chill, I don't even know any of Brenda's material, neither do I care about her career. It was an example based off a rumor.

Gaga panders to the gays. Just because Mariah hasn't pandered to a certain demographic doesn't mean she hasn't made an impact on them. If she wasn't deserving of the award she wouldn't have won it. Mariah Carey has always been a gay icon.

I noticed a while ago that she hasn't mentioned her mother. She didn't even get on social media to wish her a happy mother's day like she used to do. I was sad to see everything going on with Morgan, but it will break my heart if there is something going bad between her and her mother.

True. The thing that many are failing to acknowledge is that Mariah did clear up the confusion, said something pleasant regarding JLo, and had totally put a rest to the rumoured feud. So she did infact let it go. They could've easily just moved on from there and possibly fully made amends one day, but this time it was JLo throwing the shade. I'm sorry guys, but texting during Mariah's performance, then describing it as "a long performance", and playing into Wendy's mess by calling MC "forgetful" was all shadiness. Wendy had her facts wrong anyway because Mariah never said "who" when JLo is mentioned. So JLo shouldn't have fell for that. All JLo had to say was "We've met in passing a few times, but we don't know each other on a personal level" and that would've been cool with no shade detected. I think you are totally on to something when saying it's being used to stay relevant, because I noticed JLo never acknowledge the feud until her career cooled off. I don't see what Mariah said that was so terrible in recent interviews anyway, she just jokes about being "forgetful". But in all seriousness, I'm not an advocate for bad blood or bad energy, so I would love it if they both step up to the plate and ended the pettiness.

Brenda had a minor hit with I Still Believe and was struggling to find an audience. The demise of her career isn't Mariah's fault. She had a decent voice but she couldn't compete with Madonna, Whitney, or Janet and she was released from her contract.

High gloss/high glam video (63,026)
by RibbonB from USA

I would love for Mariah to do a really high glam video especially with that wide brim Giorgio Armani hat. She looked awesome in the hat and had an air of mystery. I think a well done video where she was directed by Sade's long term video director could be really good. "Kitchy koo" as Wendy says is cute, but straight up glamour could be really nice. She gave a little of that in the Say Something video, but she was mostly acting kitchy koo with pharell in that video. Who knows when she will have new music and make a video, but just an idea.

Mariah Carey talks about J-Lo (radio interview) (63,025)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
I will say, that on one is asking Mariah to be like anyone other than herself. The only reason people mention other artist's recent displays is just to give an example that it can still be done currently. All these things that people are asking for are positive behaviors and characteristics she has displayed in the past. Mariah seemed to try to somewhat get past it during the Charmbracelet and completely during TEOM. It seems like when Mariah was riding high she seems to let the petty drama go, but when she is in a career slump she seems to become petty again. Was it because Benny was managing her at the time? And for those that say Mariah should and would never look to JLo in anyway in regards to her career well she did hire her manager and had a huge career comeback with him. Since he has managed both of them and back with JLo hasn't he had a conversation with each of them about each other and the "beef". JLo saying Mariah was "forgetful" was a straight up "read" that references Wendy's commentary about Mariah's "fragile" state of mind. I don't blame her for finally clapping back, but she knows Wendy's shady ass would try to drudge up old drama for ratings. In my book, meeting someone is not knowing them. An acquaintance at best. So the "I don't know her" was warranted, even the shady part, at the time. Fast forward to 2016 and this is getting old. To me Mariah is just using the shade to make her relevant again as for some reason, "shade" seems to have finally hit mainstream and all the kids on social media seem to be obsessed with it. The young stars do it, but is very beginner's level, but when Mariah throws out her master class shade all the kids latch on to it, if only for a moment, which helps make her relevant. It's funny because she has been doing it for so long, but only now has caught on with the general public. Mariah has said nice things about JLo and I just would prefer her to stay consistent with what she said in this radio interview.
