The Truth (64,112) by Anonymous from
You've summarised to a degree what I've just said, she's no longer the Mariah she was but her music is ever lasting. Yes she hasn't been completely vocal on social media but she has through lyrics and interviews. Her present situation is somewhat contradictory in the sense that she is trying to live up to the times with branching out through modern technology such as social media, acting very look at me, yet she chooses to not acknowkwdge things that are happening in the world when many with a voice are. No one can change my opinion in regards to speaking up for what you believe in, no matter what, you can always get your point across in a certain way, I don't think Mariah cares enough to do that or at least is choosing not to. Like many, people choose to keep there mouths shut in case it affects there environment or how they're judged, in my opinion life is too short.

Re: Never thought I'd say this... (64,110) (64,111) by THE TRUTH from USA
You just gave me pause to reflect. Your post inspired me to do a search on google, first to see if Mariah tweeted about Philando Castile, BLM, Orlando, and to my surprise the silence was deafening. Mind you I wasn't really expecting much but at least you would think there would be some scant mention. I've never thought of her as a socially conscious celebrity in fact all I just loved those 90s classics of hers but saw from the start that her focus was entirely on herself. I do think the title of her recently shelfed reality show speaks volumes for her nature. She lives in her me I'm a celebrity with lots of money and I'll tweet semi nude selfies of me and my diamonds ceasingly while the rest of the world burns down around me. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not expecting anything of Mariah the human being, I'll settle for the timeless records she made back in the 90s and be more than happy with that.

Never thought I'd say this... (64,110) by Anonymous from
Guys I've been coming on to this site for years and rarely post unless I really feel the need to do so. I can't believe I'm saying this but I really feel like I no longer know Mariah. The person that I've followed and respected for years is now someone I barely recognise. Obviously we all change as we age but usually we evolve into something stronger and more secure, Mariah is not showing this. I don't think she respects her fans nor appreciates them the way that she used to. Social media is no longer in her hands, showing solidarity for the gay community as well as the black community is no longer expressed, despite the atrocities. It's all about procalaming self gratification, portraying to the world her life is great, and raking the money even if it goes against principles i.e performing for dictators or having a reality show when, no end of times, has ridiculed others for doing the same thing. I will always love Mariah's songs, her creativity but dare I say it, I think I'm slowly falling out of love with the person that I thought she was. Maybe things will calm down, I'm hopeful but I'm also realistic. I just hope that Mariah fixes up. Sick of this trashy, shallow self gratification image. I feel like I can share these sad thoughts with you all as most of my family and friends would just be dismissive of them in relation to Mariah. Thanks for listening guys.

This is how... (64,109) by Warren from Trinidad & Tobago
Mariah's fashion should be reported. Yes, it has nothing to do with her artistry, but the level of respect meted out to a singer who has basically never written a song or melody is so obvious. Yes it could also be sexism and ageism, but alas we have to allow MC to be herself. It's a "hopeful dream" though.

Re: Mariah's behavior (64,107) (64,108) by Marissa from USA
I think Mariah was naive when she said she believed that she could give her kids a stable, normal life. That will not be possible until she retires. She can't be active in her career and simultaneously provide normalcy for her children. And it's not just Mariah, no celebrity has the ability to do that. Her kids appear to be very sweet and not bratty at all, but I think as a parent, especially if you are rich, you have to make a conscious decision to expose your kids to how the other half lives so they never develop an entitled attitude. It's okay for an adult who is grounded in themselves to start living the luxurious life and never look back, but you don't want your kids to think that everyone owns a private plane, yacht and Rolls Royce. And let's be honest, as long as they are with Mariah they are going to think that throwing on a $500,000 diamond necklace at 7 am is normal. None of this makes Mariah a bad mother, but it's clear that her goal of giving them a normal life is not being achieved. Ironically, the only normalcy they seem to be getting is from their visits with Nick, so at least they have some exposure to a life that is less over-the-top. If I were Nick I wouldn't want my kids living such a fast-paced, grandiose lifestyle at such a young age. I'd rather them not take part in that until they're old enough to realize that private planes, 5 star hotels and luxury cars are privileges, not basic human rights.

Mariah's behavior (64,107) by Butterfly from
Mariah's traveling all over the world non stop. From her tours, vacation in Italy, St Barts to LA to NY to Vegas. Staying in Ohio a month to shoot a movie, filming her reality show in Calabasas etc. There are different people around her children non stop. How is that healthy and putting your children first? She always talked about wanting a normal life for them. If you want them to have a healthy life, live in one city and let them go to one school without being shuffled around to city to city just because you want to make more money. Children need stability. One school and seeing friends everyday in school. Not a teacher giving them private lessons in a plane or hotel. Mariah claimed Vegas was perfect because she could stay in one place for her children. Talk is cheap. Action speaks louder. But it's not surprising if you see what Stella thinks is important in life. Not school for her children, just having fun. Mariah has a drink in almost every picture. She went from Champagne/wine to hard liquor (since Stella). I've seen pictures/videos the past 6 months. Mariah is high/drunk whatever and barely can talk and walk straight. I love her but truth must be told. Nobody cares enough to step up and tell her to sit down and act like an adult. She's lost and acting weird again.

Not to be rude but seriously, you cite this like it means anything at all. Who do you think controls those press releases? They are bought and paid for just like all the retouched Mariah cheerleading we see constantly in Daily Mail. Are you really so desperate to be deluded? There is no Santa Claus. Sorry to burst your bubble. I'm not hating, I loved the 90s Mariah, the artist. That era is over and will never return.

Re: What concerns me (64,102) (64,103) by Malcolm from Asia
And it's sad that she acts like that at 46. It's not about being an ageist because I believe at the end of the day, there are some things that must not be done and off limits at the first place because it's just plainly distasteful. Even though it hurts as a fan, Mariah became a laughing stock for a long time now, instead of enjoying the legendary status, here she is, she does what she does, going to the other route, thanks to her "squad" who just adds up to the mockery. I don't know if she's aware for all of this but if she is, I don't know what she's thinking. Some people say that she's going the Madonna route, maybe yes when it comes to the other aspects but honestly speaking, I find Madonna more substantial than her. When it comes to social awareness, humanitarianism, individuality, she is far away from Madonna, just compare her recent posts on Instagram to Mariah and it speaks from itself. Yes she is a musical goddess, a gift from God talent and absolutely thankful that I live in an era where I hear Fly Like A Bird, Faded, We Belong Together, My All, and Through The Rain, but I can't say the same on the other sides of her. If she likes all of this, then it is what it is, it's now up to her.

What concerns me (64,102) by TJ from Norway
Media makes fun of Mariah. How she dresses, how she acts, how she is surrounded by her crew at all time, how she poses for pictures and so on. I do understand why they do it as long as Mariah keeps living up to this stupid diva act. I really miss the more adult, more down to earth person she was in the early stage of her career. Sexy is something you shouldn't force on people, as it's just ending up being vulgar.

Mariah's World is still a go (64,101) by TRAVON AUSTIN from United States
Per a new article from E news, Mariah's World will debut later this year. You can find it at the end of the article. Here is what it says, "Watch Mariah Carey's new series Mariah's World when it premieres on E. later this year." So the [...] lambs (conspiracy theorists) who are creating stories can now cite the facts. Here is [...]

I for one am not missing Bran Flake and she would have no legitimate reason to have him there, since she is on vacation and not performing her show. The other ones are glued to her side though. I wonder how they will manage the unlikely to happen honeymoon.

Re: Mariah's contradictions (64,092) (64,099) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah used to say the only reason to get married was to have children, so I understand why she would marry Nick because they wanted to have them together and they said they were soul mates. It is surprising that she would try to run down the aisle again, especially since she has been adamant that she will not have JP's children. Her age and pregnancy issues aside, she has stated that dem babies might get jealous if she had another child.

Non music projects (64,097) by Shezz from Pk
I don't know if people remember but a couple of years ago pre Stella, Mariah always talked about how she had other non music ideas in the pipeline that she is really excited about. I suppose she just feels like focusing on them now. The children's book, Mariah's World, Hallmark movies, Mac etc. I don't think they are brand building projects in particular either but this is what she's wanted to get out of her system for a while and she will. She'll come back to the music eventually. I guess we just gotta let her fly. Is anybody else missing Bryan on her current mediterranean cruise tour with James? Everybody else and their daughters and cousins and fathers are there literally (so weird but I think I've grown numb to that now). Anyway here's an interesting video from a fun Mariah related instagram account some of you might have heard of.

Re: Mariah's contradictions (64,092) (64,096) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
1) If she said this right after the divorce, Mariah was in her mid 20s (if she said that, I don't know if she actually did but I'll take your word for it). Around that age people are still discovering themselves and so a statement like this is not written in stone. She might have been emotional when she said that and probably meant it too, but can you really expect her to turn love down if it comes? It's not like she jumped and married the next man, she waited a good 10 years until she finally found someone she thought was the one for her. She also said she doesn't want to have kids (because she didn't want them to suffer because of her lifestyle and also because she didn't want to have kids out of wedlock), but that too changed right? People change, their priorities/desires change. It isn't unusual. Lord knows how many times I swore not to do something but did it either ways later on in life.
2) Mariah hardly ever uses her whistles as gimmick, especially not in her studio versions. I always thought Mariah was brilliant with her whistle placements and it always felt like it fit perfectly in with the song. Unlike Ariana, who really does use it for gimmick (not anymore though) and overdid it. Mariah's whistles always fit in perfectly with the song and creates a beautiful melody. On stage she sometimes throws in random whistles (which also fits in seamlessly) but I think she does that because she knows the audience love it, not because she is using that to cover up flaws. Every time she hits the whistle, the audience goes nuts.
3) I can't really blame Mariah for her good side/bad side situation, even though the woman is flawless from both sides. It's not just Mariah, most people, including myself, are aware of their good sides and bad sides and heck I'll move my friends to get my good side because I don't want my bad angle to be plastered over social media when my friends post it and tag me, so how can we blame Mariah when something she is insecure about makes it on every tabloid cover? Someone early on pointed it to her and maybe she tried to get over it but at the end of the day I can understand her being adamant about being filmed from one side.

I honestly wish she would work on new music. I am also not very keen on the 3 Hallmark movies coming up. 1 was enough. If Mariah really wants to get into movies she should try getting bigger, more mainstream projects.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it (64,093) by Giovanni from USA
Nobody gives a damn about "Mariah's world". Whether it happens or not nobody cares. I certainly was not looking forward to it. We care about the music and more success. I honestly think this program would only hurt her more and give her haters more ammo. I think doing another "Unplugged" special or tv concert would be so much more better than some reality show. Also has anyone noticed how low key Stella has been? I guess she got the memo lol.

Mariah's contradictions (64,092) by Randy from USA
Didn't Mariah say she would never get married again after Tommy? I know for a fact that she said in the Billboard Book of #1s that she could use the whistle more but she doesn't because she doesn't want to use it as a gimmick. Didn't she also say on her VH1 videography that early in her career someone told her she had a bad side, and Honey is the first video where she shows her head in its entirety? Now she's back to having a "good" side.

MW (64,091) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Does anyone know why the official trailer of "Mariah's World" has been taken down? Plus did you all know there is an official Facebook page for MW but yet it hasn't been announced on any of her socials medias so it basically has just around 1400 subscribers. Usually when celebs want to promote a project with a separate page they promote it again and again on their main account by sharing the link. For example Kylie Jenner keeps sharing the link to her "Kylie Cosmetics" page every week or every few days. Another thing I have noticed is Stella used to always caption/hashtag her instagram posts with "Mariah's World" whether it was related to MW or not. This included pictures of herself but especially on pictures of Mariah. But she has stopped using it now. But we all know Stella doesn't just stop using hashtags (case in point, the whole "empower everyone and their grandmothers" series of hashtags). Plus it's already July. We still don't know when this show will air. If it is supposed to air in September, why did Mariah go to promote the show/release the trailers months back? This cooling off period in the middle will obviously cause non-lambs/casual fans to forget about the show especially with how people nowadays have a short attention span. And if it will air in September, why is there no word on it? The air dates of most of the fall shows have been announced already.

That poor man looks so uncomfortable in that little video that was posted. Doesn't seem like he can have a semi intimate dinner with his fiancee because of all the extra people Mariah packed in her luggage (she really brought the whole squad lol). He seems to be trying to be a good sport though despite his pained expression. Lol.

Hello Truth, you shouldn't be flattered because I don't follow you. I smelled bs smeared all over your post that I clicked on your name and found an inconsistency in like 3 seconds. I politely asked that you clarify and I must have struck a nerve because you felt the urge to make sure I knew you are a "citizen of the world" and just too busy being successful that you forgot you had a "boy" at E. You don't seem to be that busy as to constantly post here. Must of had a break in between all that hiring and firing between two continents.

Meanwhile Mimi's drunk boots pictures from her undie clad One Oak DJ stint have made this weeks cover and two page spread of In Touch magazine. It's a bad look. They pointed out that her entourage that night fluffed her hair and fed her more drinks, bran flake, unstellar Stella and DJ Snufalufugus.
