One thing I like about Lee is that he keeps it real and will not put up with any over-the-top divalicious mess if it stands in the way of him having an excellent finishing product. The only slight disappointment I have is the fact that it seems like Mariah will be playing Mariah just with a different name. I was hoping for something more out of her comfort zone. Either way, ultimately I'm just glad to see her doing something that is indisputably mainstream so the younger crowd can get more acquainted with her rather than an "almost but not quite" opportunity. But I'd love for Cookie and Kitty to sit together and throw shade at people just for the sake of it hahah. But I think mostly Mariah will be involved with Jussie. I really really hope they sneak in a little Glitter reference now that Timothy and Billie are going to be back in the studio. So it would be a nice gift for the fans. Mariah has said before something along the lines of "Why be on Empire if I don't have a good character arc" so maybe she'll be in more than one episode? But I doubt it. In this leg of the Vegas residency her voice is still as strong but there's something in the way she presents herself, like there's something going on. Two different members talked about it, so that sounds believable. But I was wondering if anyone on this board can confirm this. If she actually is upset about something, that combined with the complete silence of the Kardashian wannabes is really something to worry about. I hope she is doing fine. Plus I don't even know if the rumor of her is crying is true. I asked for confirmation. She is human too, she can be upset and instead of cancelling the whole show (which people complained about during the first leg) she gave them a good performance but she probably wasn't feeling good enough for a meet and greet. Would be much better publicity than acting like a self-involved lush on entertainment news. And now you mentioned that she apparently cries and cancelled VIP meet and greet, it adds up to my suspicion that there's something going on. So she can perform a show for an hour and a half and accept the large amount of revenue from it but can't have some photos taken with fans who have paid for, and looked forward to, it for a long time? Crocodile tears on stage won't gain her sympathy from a very many people, that ship having long since sailed with the dawn on the narcissism era. But if they planted these stories, they should know they are playing with fire. Little rumors like "Mariah will only walk on a carpet of rose petals" or "Mariah flies her dog first class" are fine. It keeps her diva image up (which I still think does her no favors but whatever). However when they bring in the name of another big name celeb, especially someone as big as Beyonce, things get complicated. It also adds fuel to the "Mariah can't stand other big name female artists". Honestly Maiah needs a professional manager and a separate PR expert. Apparently the show was 15 minutes late because they were announcing the cancellation to the VIP ticket buyers. That would be great if that was the case but I don't want to get my hopes up as of yet. The silence is yet another manifestation of the incompetence of her social media management. How are you back in Vegas and there's zero talk about it on your social media? I didn't even know the exact day she was coming back until I came here and saw people talking about opening night. FYI she had bronchitis during that time if I'm not mistaken so if she truly was pitchy she's excused after all she's "just human".
