About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

Re: "Never Forget You" (57,136) (57,143) by Mara from United States Billy I always thought it was a love song about a missed opportunity when I was younger until I really listened to the lyrics. When she sings "Baby can you hear me wherever you may be tonight - are you near me - it clicked" that if she is asking if the person is near her he must have passed and she's talking about his spirit. Ok sorry for being so deep and sad. On another note I 100% agree with you that it must be so hard to go through the ups and downs of life as a celebrity status such as Mariah. She always puts that smile on, but what she is going through we have no idea. Your post was perfect and hit it all. They said she lost her mind, voice, attitude, marital problems, weight. She is a strong woman and is a fighter. She went through a very serious injury too and who knows if she has any health issues like the rest of us. Yet she has to always "be on" so to speak, and be in full make-up and have her outfits "on point" it gets tiring I'm sure. Thank you for your post about the human side of MC. Never Forget You (57,133) by Mara from United States It's funny that this song has come up recently. Once again I have turned to the comfort of Mariah's music. An ex boyfriend of mine who I recently connected with over Facebook within the past year and a half, right when "You're Mine (Eternal)" came out, life ended much too soon due to suicide over the summer and while I went to his wake and was upset over his passing, I literally just started recently feeling his death in terms of crying and thinking about our time together and what could have been had we got back together. Mind you, I am married and happily so I have no idea why I am going through these emotions. But anyhow, our Mariah has the best songs to help. I was wondering if anyone knows of Never Forget You was written for a deceased lover. It sure fits for the situation. This along with The Wind has been very comforting and fitting. I know I heard The Wind was written for someone Mariah either dated or cared about around high school that had passed. Sorry for the somber post, I just wanted to ask my fellow MC family and turned to the best ones at the Archives for opinions. Just having a bad night and probably had too much wine. Daydream (57,016) by Mara from United States Ok so I have enjoyed reading everyone's Daydream memories and I figured I have to share mine. I'm really aging myself here but it was a Tuesday October 3rd when the album was released and I was 19 and very pregnant. Back then you actually went into the record stores to purchase an album and look at all the liners and whatnot. Well, Mariah was always who I wished I looked like and Fantasy was killing the airways and the video was hot and she always looked amazing and here I was ready to pop and made my way into the mall to FYE and get the album. I'll never forget it, my son was literally born the next day and of course the one song that stood out for me and made me have that Mariah moment that she wrote a song for me was "When I Saw You" it was just so perfect for the moment. It's hard to believe my son will be 20 and of course Daydream. Between listening to MC's new album and the OJ trial to my son, I can't believe 20 years has passed. (Thursday 1 October 2015; 3:57)

Change (56,480) by Mara from United States Mimi L I could not agree more. A change would be good. Soften up her hair color. I would love to see it darker or even auburn again like the Daydream era or even the Butterfly color. I don't want to get attacked by the masses here, but we all love her and want to see her look her best. I don't know if anyone has seen the shoes she has been wearing lately but they are these massive chunky black open toe platform type shoes with a chunky heal. They look very uncomfortable and don't seem to go with the dresses she has been wearing. She doesn't even have to lose the weight if she just dresses with more flattering clothes. I thought back and I don't want to come off judgemental. Mariah is such a beautiful woman and always was. I always wanted to be her and her hair was part of the reason I would never get a short bob. Lol. I always wanted to model my looks after her. But even when I color my hair and use bleach products in it, after so long I give it a break, go dark or just tone it down and give it some time to get healthy. I think sometimes too blonde or coloring for so long can be too harsh on one's hair. Plus for my own selfish reasons I would just love to see her a brunette or wear a daring shade of red even. And as far as MC's shoes, we all know she always loved those sexy Mary Jane style shoes so this particular shoe is not a surprise. It just looked a little uncomfortable and a tad chunky. Not really what I have seen on people right now. But she can wear what she wants. I didn't want to come off judging, just want to see her in things that compliment her. Her fashion sense in the twins is on point I must say. She dresses them kids they way kids should be dressed. Very classy and stylish at the same time. Wow-performance (56,450) by Mara from United States Wow, someone posted this on Twitter and if it was anyone in here I say thank you. I remember this concert and waiting for Mariah's performance to air. Seeing it again now I really appreciate it even more. Mariah killed this performance. She was not stiff or afraid to move and she ran across the stage with so much energy. She was fierce. I miss this Mariah. I love the glitz and glamour especially for some of the big ballads, but we need this Mariah back on stage every now and then too. (Thursday 3 September 2015; 23:25)

Also, am I crazy or shoes anyone else remember Maxwell insinuating he recorded some new music with MC back around December? I love him, so I could have imagined it but I do swear I remember something like that. I really would love that, I actually would love any unreleased music from MC's catalog to be honest. I love her new stuff, but I have to be honest, anything that was unreleased would really satisfy my thirst for the MC music I miss right now. (Saturday 29 August 2015; 3:35)

Manager / Stella (56,341) by Mara from United States So Mariah is in Italy now and on JP's boat and Stella is there with her daughter's again. Now I get that she represents Mariah, but does that mean she has to be with her at every moment? And I mean no ill will with this, I am just finding it a little strange that even when MC is on a boat or in every country that she stops in, Stella and her daughters are right there with her. I would be sick of my own sister if she was there all the time. JP must be a very tolerant guy to have them all tag along with him and his new girlfriend every place they go. Maybe MC doesn't want to be alone yet? Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Lol I just know if I was nonstop with my own sister and mom who I do everything with, I would probably want to escape. Trust is very important to MC and we all know when she puts that wall up its hard for it to come down. But of course it was just something I read online and you can't always trust what you read. Vocals (55,452) by Mara from United States First on the topic of one Mariah song, that is just too hard. But something about the song Til The End Of Time from the first day I heard it has always put me in a trance like state. Sounds crazy but that song just is hauntingly beautiful. The whole Emotions album is my favorite but that song is just amazing. But I also just want to say can we mention The Vocals lately? Mariah has been sounding amazing and I am pleased to say she sounds back to fine form. From what she went through with the tabloids and the tree lighting ceremony and other appearances and lipcyncing and what not. She is officially back and showing them all. Notice there is never any press if she kills it, only if it's negative. But her press has been positive from the people going to her shows. She has her confidence back and I love it. I love when she does because she is not afraid of going there with her notes. You can see and hear from the videos posted how she is taking risks with her voice again and she is hitting the notes. Mariah Carey is the best living vocalist today and she is still proving that in Las Vegas. She was going through a lot of personal issues in her marriage and maybe that played a role in her vocals, but now she sounds better than she has sounded in over 10 years. I said the first time the photos of her and James came out that seeing her with him almost gave me the same feeling as when she was photographed with Luis. She looks happy. I love the fact that she is with someone her age and successful and there is just an air about them together. She looks classy and yes like a grown sexy woman. Personal life (55,109) by Mara from United States Yes, I was going to post something similar. Not sure what is going on with the whole Packer thing. I really do hope it's not for publicity and she is just having fun. I know there were reports that Packer is opening a casino in Vegas soon. I just hope he didn't decide to be "seen" with Mariah in between her Vegas shows to get his name out there now that she will back performing there. I also hope MC is not along for the ride and in on it for whatever reasons either. We have to think no. But I was going to post yesterday about the crazy posts Nick has been putting up lately. Seems like ever since Mariah was seen with JP. I don't know what happened with MC and NC and I don't want to speculate that everything he posts is Mariah related but it sure can be looked at that way. Not sure what he is insinuating with all of these or if he is upset she has moved on. All I know is if he did do her wrong and she is seeing all that he is posting, she has to get a little chuckle out of this now. ***off singing Someday. Loving this ride she is taking us on (54,884) by Mara from United States I'm sorry but I have to say I am loving this right now. Mariah and James are like the new "It couple". It may be for publicity but I for one am loving that she is this popular desirable couple that the world is going crazy over. The press wasn't that obsessed with her and Nick. There is something opuliant about the whole yacht and luxury and her beautiful looks she has been modeling. Whether it is staged or not, the press is eating it up and it's nice to see her in a positive light as opposed to vocal issues and record sales or whatever. I see her slimming down in front of our eyes and no that is not what is important but we have to admit she is looking smoking hot. I love love love the hair. Mariah, keep that look. Let's just say she is having some fun before her July shows start back up and she is living it up in luxury. Obviously someone in her camp is releasing these statements and pictures to the press. Mariah and James (54,795) by Mara from United States I don't know what is really going on as far as them as a couple, but I have to say Mariah looks very happy. I think seeing the pictures of her and James walking in Capri that they both really compliment each other. Is he the most handsome guy in the world? No. But as was said before, they both are close in age, have enough money on their own, been divorced twice and have small children. Seeing all these photos of the two of them together on the yacht and walking in Capri are giving me the Mariah/Luis vibe. No not looks wise but Mariah liked that Luis was famous in his own right and you could see that when the two of them were in public. James is very wealthy and a known businessman and is followed by the Australian press as well as others. I sense she always liked that. Maybe the kids are just having fun and she saves any affection for when they are not around. From what I have seen she has Stella and her two daughters there with her and I saw a picture of Kristopher B as well. His kids were with them too yesterday, so who knows? I'm sure MC is not being "lovey dovey" in front of them just yet. Can I also say I adore the curly hair with the volume on top. Very Divas Live. Always loved her hair like that. Is there an artist that you'd like to collaborate with whom you haven't worked with yet? "I want to collaborate with me 'cause I've done so many collaborations that after a certain point unless you're really working with a certain caliber of an artist, there's no point to collaborate. It just becomes, 'Oh, let's throw these two people together', and that's what I feel is wrong with some of the collaborations that happen today and, dare I say, I helped paved the way for some of these little collaborations that happened today." Morgan (54,160) by Mara from United States I read the quotes supposedly from him and as a fan that feels more like a long lost sister of MC, I am concerned. I know everyone says it's a tabloid and what not, but what if, just what if he went all the other routes and got absolutely no place reaching his sister. I know it's wrong but maybe it is tough love? I don't know, maybe not. But we do know she likes her splashes, they even make their presence in the new video. Maybe it's all nothing, I like a splash or two myself and I can't imagine if I lived in the public eye and it was documented every time I did indulge. But I do agree that it is time for Mariah to do a serious tell all type of interview with either Oprah or Diane or bring Barbara back for it. I feel it is imperative for her to do this at this stage. The public has so many misconceptions on Mariah Carey and only know and perceive her as a looney demanding over the top diva. I hate that people don't get that she plays it up, but I feel she needs to remove the gloves, show the world another side and do some damage control. Sometimes even though we don't want, we have to go where we don't want to, if that makes any sense. She is a public figure and people are making assumptions of their own and now her children come into play. I hope if she does not do a tell all interview, that the rumors about a behind the scenes documentary are true at least, and show her in a different light. People need to see another side to Mariah. MC's a very deep soul who most of the time hides behind this diva act. I wish people knew the other side we all know as her closest fans. Even with the behind the scenes rants and whatnot on her #1's she makes them mostly about her image and looks while filmed, instead of the song and the impact it made or the process of writing it. I guess that is the reason for the rants or whatever. I just feel as fans of her, we want to protect her legacy and her as a person. Does anyone know if Patricia has been to Vegas at all? It seems like while Mariah was with Nick, she was closer to his mom than her own. I feel there is a lot about Mariah she keeps very private and rightfully so, but as fans we can be concerned. Born to sing (53,785) by Mara from United States Just watching some of those videos of Mariah singing TGIFY and the improv of It's Like That, just reminds me of how this young lady was born to sing and what a gift she was given. Literally she was gifted this voice. She can sing anything with a piano and it mesmerizes people. That is truly a gift. There is no one alive that can do that, no disrespect to some of the greats, but she has so much tone, so much richness. She hypnotized just by opening her mouth. She is at her best when she improvises with a piano. I unfortunately cannot make her Vegas shows in July, but hope she mixes up her songs at the Beacon this December. She is truly amazing. We are lucky to be blessed with a talent like MC. The Taylor Swifts of today do not hold a candle to the young legend that is Mariah Carey. (Wednesday 27 May 2015; 4:45)
