Unknown variable (68,959) by Nikki from usa I'm still waiting for it. I was about to post how I've been collecting pics of MC for 20 years and never has she ever worn diamonds to the beach. I was going to point out that there was a lot of posing and the lack of chemistry made these 2 look like siblings having fun at the beach. But, now we see there was at least 1 photographer there, although, I wouldn't assume that was it. This is some form of photo shoot or publicity which is obvious at this point. Due to how this was done and how this goes against Mariah's usual in so many ways across the board, I think there's more to the story than just fake publicity shots. They're in Hawaii where Tanaka is from. I wonder if he has something coming out of his own. This could be publicity for the place where they're staying, some kind of catalog thing for the island, or for what she's wearing. I could be wrong, but I don't believe this photo shoot is for Mariah's World, I think it's for something else. (Thursday 1 December 2016; 23:33)

She also said Nick will get sick, and will get a woman pregnant. The funny thing is, she kept on insisting that Iggy had Asian lineage. But you see the similarities? They're both Australian, and Iggy Is no Asian." I don't know if you're still on this board or not, and I know nothing about Iggy, however Nick did get sick again and got a girl pregnant. So, far 2/3 ain't bad. Packer might not be Asian, but I do believe the Hawaiian ancestry of Tanaka has Asian lineage. That would be wild if they really did turn out to be a thing. The whole article is about Stella talking about a personal assistant for herself, so how does that turn into "Mariah Carey's personal assistant?" If Stella's going to dictate her team's dating life around her and admits she's going to abuse her assistants than I hope she also pays for their therapy afterward. (Tuesday 29 November 2016; 1:47)

This is how much it costs to be Mariah Carey? (68,769) by Nikki from usa A couple of issues here. 1. "The rent for Carey's Calabasas mansion is reportedly roughly $250,000." Yes, but that was shared with a billionaire, not something she does on the regular. 2. She doesn't stay at the Nobu Villa, she has her own 5 million dollar trailer she bought specifically for her Vegas residency, so she doesn't shell out that kind of money. 3. "She's off skiing in Aspen during the holidays she shells out $1,400 nightly for an Airbnb rental." That sounds about right, but I'm not sure if it's always that brand. I'm under the impression she's been doing so much promo for them so she'll be comped this year on her using them for her travels. 4. I've heard of that $9,400 figure for hair before, but it wasn't per appearance it was per month. This is neither here nor there, but does anyone else recall Buckle saying something along the lines of charging her up to $1,200 per appearance? She only utilizes him for major appearances and sometimes for dates to do makeup, unless she's on tour. (Tuesday 29 November 2016; 1:42)

Re:Randy (68,730) by Nikki from usa Those are some interesting points. But, does "treated me kind, sweet destiny" sound like "when you walk by looking fine"? Mariah's debut had a much more alto sounding voice but, compared to Fantasy's soprano voice they sound nothing alike. I think Mariah showed a lot of vocal variance in Melt Away with her vocal tones and stylings, but even Melt Away's alto Mariah sounds nothing like the deep tones found on Vision of Love. I don't know that everyone is sticking their heads in the sand so much as noticing a continual change in Mariah's voice as the years go on. Some folks act like Mariah woke up one day and her voice was different when it's rarely ever been the same for more than 2-3 years at a time since she came out. I don't know anything about events, but there were other changes between '96-'97. For one, the internet blew up and media in general began expanding. Mariah's Daydream tour had her only singing 1 concert per week for 1 month at a time. 2nd month was off and she wrapped it up in month 3. In '97 Mariah began speeding up her promo, doing more of it, and taking far less time off for breaks in between. (Monday 28 November 2016; 5:44)

The underestimation is real (68,547) by Nikki from usa The way Mariah typically goes about her ballads is open ended so other people can apply it to their own lives and steers toward the emotional implications rather than the specifics. Going back to what made her famous is where it's at. That's her bread and butter right there and I'm all in. The determining factor here is going to be if this is break up music like Inifinity or break up music like Can't Let Go. I don't want Mariah to just rehash, I'd like her to expand her craft, and not just regurgitate what she's already done. The fact is people can relate to being played, to having mixed feelings, to harsh breakups, or just feeling betrayed. All this publicity is one hell of a stepping stone. This is why Mariah is still wearing the ring (68,030) by Nikki from usa I went through all the actual statements on this breakup stuff for the past 2 days and it explains why Mariah isn't removing the ring. We don't know about "problems" they've had in the past or how they've been handled. But, this is the current story: Mariah and Packer had a fight in Greece. They hadn't seen each other since, but set aside a time to meet up and discuss things. Packer blew it off at the last minute and said he couldn't do it then. Soon after, Women's Day, was the first publication to state they broke up claiming Packer dumped Mariah amidst rumors of overspending, and reports of Mariah's "backup dancer". The story seems to be planted by Packer's people. Gossip everywhere caught on like wildfire. Mariah didn't think anything of it at first, which is why Stella commented on the fight. Mariah was still waiting for a meet up and hasn't been able to get him to return calls, so now she's thinking this engagement off story is true. There's no closure and Mariah's still not sure what to expect since they have yet to talk since their fight, apparently, she had originally assumed it was a spat and they would be getting back together. Just a side note - Mariah and her team know who Bryan Tanaka is and I doubt they would be reporting him as her "back up dancer" or refuse to use his name. He's her choreographer and lead. As long as she still has her residency and shows to do he will be around as he has been for this past entire year since he was promoted. Mariah tends to treat her team like family and that's not going to change because now there's gossip. Mariah has never been out with just Tanaka. (Sunday 6 November 2016; 7:51)

Packer / 50 million / Stella (67,840) by Nikki from usa I firmly believe in tried and true methods of sticking round pegs in round holes and square pegs in square holes. Stella's been around MC for 2 years now and I think if MC wants to keep her it should be just with television aspects of promo devoid of Mariah's music. Stella doesn't seem to have the pull to put MC on the cover of magazines and create hype outside of shock value. Mariah could use a manager that's suited to the music industry for her music. I still believe Mariah's #1 Christmas hit is going to happen this year. If she promotes the hell out of it, especially where live TV singing is concerned, it's going to happen. I don't believe the 50 million story. If it's true it would have more to do with business deals they conducted together. What if Packer was part of the promoter deal Mariah had for her Latin American leg and that's why it had to be cut? I'm also wondering a little why Mariah brought up the sex thing. Part of me is now wondering if that's part of what set Packer off. They're engaged, she's officially divorced now, he thought he'd finally get some and there everyone is tagging along. I thought he was getting irked by the extension of her docu-series and that's why she rented the second yacht. He can say he's not interested in media attention all he likes, but the fact is he used Mariah a lot to promote his projects. It's not very nice (67,738) by Nikki from usa But, I hope they don't get back together/marry. When anyone ever divorces and marries the rebound it just rarely ever goes well. I don't believe anything until an official statement is truly given and so far the usual diplomatic response hasn't actually said anything specific. "Sources" and "insiders" don't cut it. I had no idea who James was when she first started dating him. I was nervous when I found out he was an heir and traded in the family business to be an investor in gambling and movies. I thought there might be a hidden agenda to use Mariah as a draw. She did do mini concerts for him at some of his hotel openings and he brought her to investor meetings. I don't know anything about James, but Mariah has a history of involving herself with men who need help with their careers. Mottola didn't get the head of Sony until her debut flourished and was fired 2 years after she left the company to never return to his former glory. Nick is a more obvious case. Whatever happens I hope it doesn't get messy since they have a mutual friend/business partner in Brett Ratner. Until some kind of proof is given I'm not believing this Maranka business either. Mariah's choreographers have always been female and they spent as much time with her as Tanaka has. He's been with her for a decade and part of her residency before she dated Packer. He got some infamy when Stella became more involved and then a year later the papers are trying to pair him as a love interest. Don't help anymore people out with their careers via romantic involvement, MC. Get back to horseback riding and double o' Honey Carey. Find yourself a nice stable boy. (Monday 31 October 2016; 5:57)

Shame on you (67,649) by Nikki from usa We don't know anything yet. There is no Stella, Mariah, or James. We have no official statements or live footage. You have a bunch of gossip columns pulling a lot of random crap out of their asses while you all eat it up like it's all facts. All that is truly known is that they haven't been seen together since Greece, Packer didn't show up to Mariah's Halloween party, and most of Mariah's South American leg was cancelled. According to Mariah, that was a promoter issue and not related to her relationship. Other than that all you have is 100% speculation. Mariah not being able to do shows due to promoters would not be the first time this has happened with Mariah or other singers, it won't be the last, and it certainly isn't an "F.U." to her fans. Currently, Mariah's still wearing her ring, so we don't know that they've split for good or not. We don't know anything. Some of you act like vultures licking your lips so you can be "outraged" by Mariah because you read tabloid fodder is disgusting. Who performed the surprise lobotomies? (66,920) by Nikki from usa You all know Mariah's touring throughout October and wrapping it up in Hawaii in November. You know her December Christmas deal with concerts and usual promo. Why do you think this is a new Mariah Carey single when that was not promoted by her or her team and you're well aware she has no time this year to do that? Empire isn't a podium to release new material for artists, it's for artists to assume a role and release music for Empire. At it's best selling they get over 100,000 downloads. Empire is R&B and hip-hop music that goes with their storyline and that's what Mariah delivered. New music for Empire doesn't equal Mariah Carey's next single. Now, people have gone off the deep end pumping up something that never existed and then blaming Mariah for not delivering something that was never promised. (Saturday 1 October 2016; 18:45)

Charting (66,525) by Nikki from usa Although, I hope this Empire track is great, I'm not holding out any hope that this is Mariah's key back to the top. Typically, Empire songs don't sell that well or even hit radio for the most part. I think Mariah's next #1 is going to hit in December when AIWFCIY finally hits the summit which is long over due. One good thing being at Sony is updating her Vevo with all those music videos. I hope we finally get to hear that Roast Beast song, it sounds hilarious. After that, I think Mariah should follow it up with a bouncy number in the vein of Time Of Your Life/Triumphant/Hero kind of thing. Something with a can't-get-out-of-your-head-with-a-jack-hammer hook MC's known for with that kind of positive message. If anyone can make a track that appeals to several generations at once, it's Mariah. It should be a charity single. That should be her angle. That opens up so many platforms. Radio stations give contributions from time to time, so that could actually be her "in" to getting back on the air. She could capitalize on her career from there. I think it would be epic if she made a charity single #1. The music video needs Bard Mariah. She's at her best telling a story. She could try another old fairy tale classic or make up her own. MTV VMA - take a seat (65,820) by Nikki from usa Good grief, MC hasn't been to the VMA's since 2005. You guys hardly recognized her videos even in the 90's. She has no reason to give you guys a hand now. If you're going to go around and diss her on top of it than don't expect any free hand outs. Of course, J. Lo said yes - she'll do anything for publicity. When you spend 4 years putting something together that also costs you a 100 million contract due to theft, do you really think you're going to give a damn what the excuses are for the thief stealing from you? Mariah doesn't bring up J. Lo and would be just as fine not speaking on the matter, she's not going to go out of her way to give J. Lo and the VMA's publicity. What would Mariah get out of it? She's got her own ish to deal with, a wedding coming up, still in the middle of touring, and filming a docu-series. Her plate is full. (Friday 2 September 2016; 8:36)

His/her yachts (65,155) by Nikki from usa Why? I would assume because James is getting sick of camera men on his when he's a private person. Since Mariah's old fashioned and they're apparently not going to be bumping skins until after the wedding could be another reason. Especially, since their last photos dancing together depicted James all over her, squeezing tits and all. That was a bit much. Truth be told I was a bit worried about Mariah getting with James. His father left him 5 billion and he's already lost 1.5 billion of it on bad investments. He's had Mariah sing for 1/8 of her usual price for his hotels as a draw and even had her accompany him to a few of his investor meetings. Mariah's self-made and James isn't. I hardly doubt you can tell someone's relationship by a handful of photos especially when one of them is awkward in the spotlight. If Mariah was into money and status she wouldn't have married Nick to begin with. He had none of that. People say all sorts of crazy things about her and flip her mentality around like a pancake. I can see why she'd show her own documentary, so she could have a say. Mariah's old fashioned, she has kids so she wants a steady husband. James has his own career so he doesn't need to be gone day and night to create it. He has his own money, so she doesn't have to worry about gold digging. This is both their third marriage and they both have kids. They have a lot in common. Hot and heavy didn't work for the last marriage, so it makes sense she'd want someone more serious and commitment-minded this time around. (Thursday 11 August 2016; 4:43)

Oh, Nygel (65,154) by Nikki from usa We can't fight our own battles anymore, can we? Having kids do your dirty work. Idol owns these kids asses until their contracts expire. I find it highly suspicious these two are on a first name bases and a contestant knows what her judge "requirements" were. Nygel was the one who continually claimed Mariah ruined the show and is responsible for its demise. I do sometimes wonder if I was the only one who watched that Nicki Minaj show where she interrupted everyone with special attention to Mariah to the point Mariah couldn't give her critiques. As Mariah mentioned previously the producers wanted her to make the contestants feel like crap and she wasn't on board with that. She thought she was finding the next superstar only to find out everything was contrived and already decided. Everything was a lie. No, she couldn't just quit. That's what a contract is. You quit, you get sued. Would Mariah be upset if Ellen joined the squad at the last second? Doubtful. But, when you sign a contract to be a part of a 3 panel group just to have a last minute 4th entry that's a trash talking rapper with all of one album out then an intelligent person may wonder exactly what the deal is here. Nygel branded Mariah as the reason for poor ratings halfway through, then claimed she was fired at the end, and when AI came to an end he blamed her for it as well. Yes, that's abusive, especially, when he's whispering into each other's ears to get them to fight. What's truly sickening is people think it's ok to treat other people like crap as long as you give them a lot of money. (Thursday 11 August 2016; 4:14)

Especially, for a site like this which is essentially news with sources. I don't know if you've had further issues with them since then, but that is around the time Prince began his crusade against copyright infringement. All the cool lawyers were doing it. I don't think she'd jump on that train due to her actions in the past. A few years ago a fan had her remix for Joy up on YouTube, but it was just the audio. Mariah added the track to her online playlist. She doesn't seem to have an issue with fans using her stuff and is always bragging about how creative her fans are. Did you ever hear the story about George Lucas and Mad Magazine? Lucas called the publisher to tell them how much he enjoyed the Star Wars parodies on the same day his own lawyers sent Mad a cease and desist letter claiming Lucas film was due damages. They (Mad magazine) sent a copy of that letter to Lucas and the problem was never heard of again. I don't really see Mariah heading a legal team to attack her fans. It seems counter productive. Brenda/J.Lo - just the facts (63,077) by Nikki from usa Brenda did a radio interview with Wendy before Wendy got her show. She pretty much goes over everything in it. Brenda was hoping to get a finder's fee for discovering Mariah, but she didn't get it. After Sony dropped her she got into Salsa music. She was upset Mariah was making homemade popcorn on a string and sending it to everyone as gifts instead of expensive presents. Brenda was upset Mariah didn't buy her a house. Her music got a recharge after Mariah remade her song. Benny Medina made some obnoxious comments to her during the TEOM era and Mariah told her she couldn't control what he said, so Brenda left. She's been ticked ever since. It's noteworthy that BM is a force to be reckoned with, but the downside to that is he burns bridges professionally and personally. He's been fired from most major celebs within a couple years. J.Lo originally fired him for embezzlement. Jennifer Lopez is credited as a songwriter. She co-wrote her first single and others from her earlier albums. Mariah never mentioned her culprits. Yellow Magic Orchestra did. They stated that no one had wanted their song before Mariah called for it and Jennifer Lopez called for it a month later. It wasn't "Tommy", "Sony", it wasn't "given" to her, no one held a gun to her head. She called for it personally. Which explains why this happened again with her in '05 with Usher. His song "Ride" didn't make the Confessions cut, but was a club banger. She took the music and some of the lyrics for her song "Get Right". Usher was ticked since this was his song that he co-wrote. He didn't give consent, he wasn't credited, and he was fuming that she best give him a royalty check. (Monday 6 June 2016; 21:10)

In fact, the entire post about her cornering the market for Christmas was nothing but facts and conclusions derived from them. You simply ignored all of them to focus on one sentence that referenced astrology and was even prefaced with, "for those that are interested". What's worse is you didn't even get the sentence right. It's planet(s). Plural, Andrew. A "planet" isn't a "horoscope". Yes, a planet can be discombobulated. Uranus is discombobulated as the only planet that rotates on its side unlike the other planets that simply rotate on a tilt. Remember facts and not just random suppositions? You didn't include any facts in your reply. You made an assumption and gave an emotional response before feeling the need to lie down. Clearly, the sign of a factual academic. Someone's looking to corner the Christmas market (62,926) by Nikki from usa Mariah has just uploaded her Christmas videos to Vevo. Both Joy To The World videos and her 1960's remake of AIWFCIY which will add to the overall views for the song this year. For those of you interested in this stuff, astrologically, Mariah's planets were discombobulated last year. This year she has her ducks in a row, so if she hauls ass she has a shot at the top spot from that standpoint. It kinda sucks how the Billboard Awards are now calculated just because Mariah really missed out on how much she'd have now if the criteria were the same from back in her day. However, maybe she can make a killing now with her Christmas and future music. Between her Christmas movie rerun, her lipstick, her promo, her views, her streams, and other plugs I'm looking forward to the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" track to finally take its rightful place at the top of the charts this year. Re: Stacey (62,779) by Nikki from usa Mariah never tried to upstage Aretha. In fact, she didn't ever sing until Aretha cued her to sing. Perhaps, you need to watch that again. Celine also tried to outsing the other 3 during Carole King's song and even sang Carole's part. They were going down the line, you could see Carole about to sing her part before Celine took over. It's about harmonizing as a group, not trying to upstage each other. Everyone seem to get that but Celine. The finale was Aretha's song and she went down the line with everyone and each of them had their moment. At the very end when Aretha was doing her vocalization, Celine chimed in at the last second, trying to sing the last note. The rest of the divas were harmonizing together while Celine tried to outsing everyone and took over other's parts. (Saturday 28 May 2016; 19:54)

Parallels between MC and Riri's career (62,778) by Nikki from usa It is interesting how they both started racking up #1's and then had a year of releasing music where they struggled to hit the top spot. Mariah's being in '98 with Sweetheart and the two "Believe" songs. I'm aware My All rolled over into '98 and was a #1 hit for her, but then her next LP's releases didn't yield any. Riri had a straight string up until last year when "Seconds" and "Money" didn't hit high enough. Mariah came back in '99 and racked up 2 more and now Riri is trying for that second #1 in a row. Mariah was at 11 years before her fall and that's where Riri is now. A lot of people think she'll beat MC's record, but I really don't. I still think she could get 1 or 2 more, but I think that's where it will end. I see this going one of a few ways. Riri's brand is sexuality with a healthy dose of kink and the younger generation is less interested in that brand when an artist hits their 30's. I think we're already starting to see the effects of that. I see Rihanna becoming a top 10 artist like Ariana and then top 20 when she's in her late 30's. There's also the biological clock every woman hears begin to tick when she hits 30, so her priorities could change. She had a harder time of hitting the top spot, so her label will need to push her on her current momentum now that she's managed to hit it. They need to keep her going at a constant rate until the cash cow has been fully milked. That's draining in and of itself, which is why I think she only has 2-3 years left. Re: Divas Live '98 (62,777) by Nikki from usa I gotta back Bill up on that one. The "divas" consisting of MC, Celine, and I can't even remember the third one were all a parody on Saturday Night Live by their cast. That's a show depicting live music, which Mariah has done many times, while the rest of the show does funny skits that are made up or based off entertainers. Mariah's parody was her hot body - "I"m keeping an eye on my figure and so is every heterosexual male on the planet" was her shtick. Celine's was being "the greatest singer in the world" which she would constantly say and break out into song whenever the other two singers began talking. It was a constant parody that lasted 2 years after Divas Live came out. VH1 did a special on Divas for that year claiming Celine was trying to outsing Aretha on her own song.
