Mariah was and is mentioned so often in episodes and even movies. I once had a list of it, because I found it so cool that Mariah is mentioned by so many people. Even in novels, I have two books and two autobiographies were she is mentioned. Always positive. And the poster of her in the "Mean Girls" movie is legendary isn't it? Camila at #1 (80,559) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines I know this is outta nowhere but she's a certified Mariah fan so congrats to Camila Cabello on having the #1 album (which is quite good by the way) and #1 song (Havana finally and deservedly hit the top spot) in the US and and in many other countries. She's just so adorable and seems really humble and grateful in all of her interviews. Turns out leaving Fifth Harmony was the best decision. She sounds a like a more urgent Selena Gomez with a little bit of Ariana and Rihanna at times. She has the potential to go really far. (Monday 22 January 2018; 22:56)

(80,557) (80,558) by T from USA I think what may have happened is Mariah was looking for happiness after a sad lonely childhood and she thought music and success would give her the relief of all the pain she was feeling inside. The Butterfly album with all its themes and sadness is a person coming to the realization that none of it made her happy on the inside. And at some point during that era she stopped being so intense about using music and success as a remedy to the pain. At that point she found alcohol (and maybe drugs) to let her distract from her inner pain. Tommy kept her hidden from the industry parties as long as he could but she was increasingly becoming more unhappy. I remember the time in her life that she was in therapy and reunited with her father is a time I saw more genuine content within her. She was also treating her voice better (Charmbracelet world tour to TEOM). Unfortunately, it came after she hit rock bottom first. Then after all the success of TEOM she still wasn't at peace. Can you imagine being so successful and yet still looking outward for happiness? I really believed her kids would finally bring her inner peace but then we got the Stella era where she seemed the most disconnected and false ever. Right now she seems better and motivated but I just hope she's not just banking on new success to give her happiness, because once again she is going to be severely disappointed. (80,552) (80,557) by Bill from the UK The major take home point is any singer worth their salt (Mariah excluded it would seem) know that alcohol has always been something to avoid due to the damage it can do to a voice. Exactly the same as marajuana. If you're a singer of limited ability it probably won't even matter. But when you sing across five octaves, with belts in your upper register and equally as taxing soft legato style singing, usually across a 4 minute space and then times that by 12 for a concert, you need to be in tip top shape to pull it off. At the Daydream concert back in 1996 in London (I was an attendee and will brag about that until I'm six feet under), she paused to drink her honey and lemon drink in between each song. During Butterfly that seemingly went out the window along with the turtle necks and trouser suits, and her current vocal ability is through years of abuse. The stupid thing is, she can still pull it out the bag from time to time. So imagine how great she could still be if she treated her immense gift with the care and respect it deserved. She multi tasks in the red outfit for dinner, then days later the Daily Mail also has a picture from inside her house with her in the exact same, not suitable for bowling, outfit "bowling" with Rocky. And of course we have the white tee dinner outing and the same outfit later in the studio also in the Daily Mail. People get hyped and/or vexxed by photos all the time. Mimi is playing to her base as varied as it is. I personally like the family moments best and that is what's real, but even that we only see what she decides to share which is very little. Endless Love (80,555) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada I was listening to the single this weekend and remembering how much I enjoy the song. I actually prefer Mariah's and Luther's version to the original version. There is so much texture and richness in the vocal and their voices blend so well. It kinda makes me crave some contemporary work again. Don't get me wrong, I love her r&b stuff but I also love it so much when she does simple powerful yet classic, it's very accessible. When she puts it out then that will be the moment we can go crazy. Until then assumptions and speculations are just that. Drive yourself up the wall with assumptions. I remain excited knowing she's back in the studio. I remain optimistic. I remain happy. The past is the past for a reason and every day is a new day to turn things around.
