About Nikki from usa:

Foreshadowing (81,920) by Nikki from usa
I thought Mariah was doing a bit of foreshadowing when she mentioned she was afraid someone would "out her". However, her brother Morgan already did that 2 years ago. I have to say, with time, people seem to forget. Some mentioned that Mariah came out with zingers against Mottola when they got divorced, but that's not true. She just said he was controlling too much of her career and she wanted it back. She kept going on and on about what "a great person" he is. She didn't get into more of the nitty gritty until she was off the label. Even then, she downplayed it. You can actually see the cameras in her home on the remix for ABMB. Your hubby literally watching you 24/7 is weird and creepy. That's just for starters. Not many people would put up with all of that. My point is Mariah has a high tolerance for BS. When things hit the fan, she makes a statement, and moves on. She doesn't fight. I'm hoping this time is different. I want her to prove Stella's baseless claims faulty, then bury her. She should make an example out of Stella. If she does, you'll see a lot less slander and everyone is going to double check their facts before writing anymore BS about her. Mariah needs to start controlling her own narrative.

Damizza? (81,877) by Nikki from usa
Isn't that the fool, who was a DJ, that Mariah gave a shot with producing her remix to I Still Believe? She gave him his producer name. It became a huge hit and he got more work as a producer. He introduced her to Eminem. Then, came out with a tell all book that was supposed to prove he and Mariah were dating. Instead, it got him nearly laughed out of the business because his photos looked like fan photos. That fool? I remember those pictures and thinking, "Damn, Pam Anderson got more play from Mariah than that." Then, Eminem came out claiming he dated Mariah. He also had "proof" with pictures he refused to show after what happened with Damizza. Then, Damizza apologized to Mariah and he worked with her on CB. Then, they fell out of contact until Obsessed. He thought the song was about him and he made a big stink of it on social media. That fool?

The new shock is People magazine (81,875) by Nikki from usa
This is the first time Mariah's done an interview for People magazine since 1993 when they questioned if she was famous for her marriage instead of her pipes. She's actively boycotted any connection with them ever since. However, People is one of the few publications left that insist on fact checking instead of relying on he-said, she-said. The fact that she chose to come out to them in itself is amazing.

Celebrating women (81,356) by Nikki from usa
I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the article. It claims Boyz II Men have the longest running #1 on the hot 100 with End of the Road which is false. I'm also shocked on how Mariah was short changed and how Rhianna was mentioned, but there was no accomplishment attached. It just seems like Mariah's longest running #1 was skirted around. They sort of nod to it by proclaiming Houston has the longest running #1 by a solo artist and that her record wasn't broken. True, but also misleading. Whitney's song is so iconic that it is surprising to think that Mariah's WBT actually matched it in weeks at #1. Why are people skirting around giving credit where it's due? In the spirit of that, I feel the need to mention Mariah is the first female to debut at #1, has the most #1 debuts of any artist, first female to have a #1 for every year of a decade, have the song of the decade for 2 decades in a row, along with the longest running #1 hit in history. Also, they say she's the "female" with the most #1's instead of the fact she's the "solo" artist with the most #1's regardless of gender.

Yes, B (80,867) by Nikki from usa
Show me a superstar with numerous hits that's doesn't have a lawsuit of copyright against them. Even Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On had a lawsuit against it. Mariah did initially have some issues with it when she didn't understand the legalities of it, but she made it right when she found out. She wasn't actually taken to court for Emotions, but the guy did a lot of hooting and hollaring. But, once that happens, the vultures come out to make a quick buck. This is a very sue happy industry and many lawsuits lack merit simply because they're trying to copyright something very basic that shows up in millions of songs. Over 1200 people claimed to create part of Hero. The one guy that made it to court couldn't even prove he ever had a song. Some were settled out of court, but most cases were dismissed. Mariah's been sampling for a hot minute, but she's been giving credit for awhile now. People who don't understand the biz are even claiming Mariah's no songwriter because she's has 6 songwriters with her for a song. They don't realize most of those are just crediting a music sample and not lyricists for her track. The Trackmasters said MC was a *b* to work with because she insisted on giving Shook Ones their due when they just wanted to credit Mobb Deep.

Mariah's in trouble (80,148) by Nikki from usa
She has no idea. DCP wanted her last year when they couldn't get a headliner and were in the middle of a 1 billion dollar deal with Chinese owned Wanda Group. They needed eyeballs and stats and got them. It wouldn't mean much when they were selling to someone else and wouldn't be responsible for future performances. But, China is familiar with Mariah. She even broke the record for the most concerts by an American artist in China with her Elusive tour. Wanda Group backed out of the sale in January. Now, DCP has to deal with the fact no singer or musician wants to risk being their headliner. DCP needs everyone to believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mariah's a screw up or kiss their butt goodbye. Mariah will be the ultimate patsy this year. DCP is already working this angle with the headlines claiming she didn't do soundcheck when there's pictures that prove she did and still a video where Ryan himself says so. This isn't about Mariah redeeming herself. There's nothing to redeem - she's been singing live for 27 years. Yet, all the headlines are skewed to blaming her 100% with no mention of DCP's responsibility in this whole mess at all. Last year they screwed her for money. This year will be for revenge and to save face.

Dick Clark Productions need to redeem themselves (80,057) by Nikki from usa
I think it's funny how this all backfired against them. DCP didn't need to win over the public's opinion - they needed to convince people in the business. I can't help but notice how they had Ryan out in September and October trying to convince people DCP had nothing to do with it. Those of us not in the business may not know or understand, but other musicians and singers would be able to tell if MC screwed up or if DCP did. My bet would be on DCP. I saw so many topics on Reddit from sound techs and musicians claiming that was definitely DCP's screw up. Furthermore, there's 3 protocols to take in such an event: 1. Fix the ear monitors by making sure they're on the proper frequency. If that doesn't work go to 2. Utilize the monitors - those would be speakers set up on stage that can blast music directly at the artist as a back up. Instead, Mariah had to ask for them to be turned on. Repeatedly. They never did. 3. Cut to a commercial, fix the problem, start from the top. Nothing was done.
Usually, they announce their headliner at the end of November or early December. The fact it's being announced just before Christmas means they couldn't get anybody. They need to redeem themselves, so here we go. MC - this would be a grand opportunity to debut a new hit song. Just saying.

St. John Charity (79,997) by Nikki from usa
That event was charity work. They filmed it to be shown on TV to promote the album and gave the ad revenue to the church. The concert itself was free for the church's patrons. I don't think people really acknowledge all the ways Mariah gives back.
She does have a Merry Christmas DVD that displays the music on audio, but includes her Christmas videos from '94-'01. The kids love the cartoon.

Lila have you been living under a rock? (79,623) by Nikki from usa
2016 alone saw Mariah doing a 5 month residency, a world tour, documenting her life, an entire cosmetics line with Mac, headlining 3 shows, her annual Christmas concerts and cutting her Christmas vacation with her kids short to do NYE. She was also featured in the movie Girls Trip. It's mighty pompous to assume she's not working simply because you don't have paparazzi pictures of it or she's not in your area. There's also a difference between taking a vacation on an island to get away from everyone for downtime when you live in a people oriented occupation and traveling for leisure for the fun of it. She did a lot of work with the Dead Sea cosmetics line, touring, creating movies, new music, and doing a lot of behind the scenes deals this year. Mariah's a private person. You're not going to be kept up to date on what she's doing with her kids or real private time other than the usual run of the mill media quotes and blurbs she wants you to know.

50,000 in sunglasses and handbags (79,415) by Nikki from usa
They got stolen. Mariah claims it's an inside job. The security team arrived hours late despite alarms going off. Next thing we know, Stella's fired and so is this security team. This guy filing a lawsuit claims he wants payment for the rest of the years of his contract - and, oh, he was sexually harassed and Mariah was racist toward him. For once, I hope Mariah doesn't pay and hits back with a counter.
(Monday 13 November 2017; 08:32)
Andrew (79,414) by Nikki from usa
Consider these points - Mariah's been out 27 years and nobody has ever called her racist or accused her of sexual harassment. If true she'd have a lot more gossip about that than it simply starting up right now. Wearing clothes or whatever she wants isn't sexual harassment. If it were every man who ever wore a speedo would be in jail by now. Let's not get hypocritical. She told him to move luggage, not touch her body. Being a fired employee doesn't make his story more credible, just the opposite. Mariah's music is black. It's R&B and hip-hop. The career matches the background. But, are we going to pretend she's never been working with Walter A for years? Carole King? David Foster? Diane Warren? When the people were primarily white with Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston being the token people, everything was cool. Her longest running friendship to date is with Josephine. Last time I checked Stella and her daughters weren't black and they were practically living with her 24/7 for 3 years. She's currently dating an Asian. If her skin is white, she must only be surrounded by white people or she's racist? This is the "logic" you try to peddle.

A bit worried (79,091) by Nikki from usa
Mariah added even more dates to Beacon Theater. She's not giving herself any breaks. She's supposed to be taking off two days between shows, instead she's doing them back to back with 1 day off in between. There's up to 3 shows in a row before she gets a day off before going back to concert. That's on top of traveling in some cases. Unless she's going to lip everything, she's going to burn out her chords or just burn out.
I think Mariah doesn't trust her own judgement. She flakes out. She didn't stop believing in what she says she does. She even starts out walking the talk, but then when others make suggestions and claim it will work better she takes them. Behind the scenes at concerts is what Mariah's always given us in dvd's. I think it's obvious "Mariah's World" as it was wasn't her idea. She simply goes along with these concepts because if they fail than it's not her fault. Somebody else came up with it. I'd bet anything that's how she views it. She'd be better doing her own ideas and following through with them than taking others'. Making a new CD after signing her own label sounds like Mariah. Non-stop touring sounds like Stella.

Mariah's Christmas (78,669) by Nikki from usa
You guys should do some research on what "breaking news" means. Mariah had a scheduled interview to talk about her upcoming Christmas projects. This was all about holiday cheer. The fact this guy didn't do any of that, but just informed her of breaking news she has no idea about, doesn't have the details to, and this isn't her jurisdiction, is uncalled for. Her job is sing. She doesn't need to keep up on tragedies or speak on them if she doesn't want to. That's her choice. She should've never been put on the spot like that. It wasn't the purpose of her segment and its original purpose never happened. She was smiling and her face fell. She didn't know if she was on the opposite end of a twisted joke or if he was telling her the truth. She had no idea what was going on. I'd bet anything the self righteousness here would be out the window if someone shoved a camera in your face, put you on the spot unawares, and had everyone criticize every idiosyncratic moment you did. It doesn't matter that she's a celebrity who's used to talking about her music projects. She's not improv or someone who makes speeches. No amount of spotlight is going to prepare you for that situation unless you're a professional news anchor.

Beauty line/projects/tours (78,667) by Nikki from usa
I do believe it was just gossip that she and Stella were looking for a place to open together. A few months after that story we found out MC was overseas and helped create a new cosmetics line for Dead Sea Cosmetics for the Israeli consumer base. She did a bunch of promo and ads over there for the line.
I hate to break it to all the "she's overweight, so she has major health issues, and must be on anti psychotics because she can't walk in sky high heels" crowd, but with the music market sucking and uncertainties with her label, touring is a natural avenue to take. Yes, it's a bit much and she should slow down, but Mariah's been like this since day 1. This isn't a new development. How she used to do albums is how she's doing touring.
Mariah's projects aren't businesses she's starting. She always collabs with other major businesses. It's no different than when she teamed up with Elizabeth Arden for her perfume lines. These don't cost her money. She makes major money off of them. It's not about steady income, it's about trying new things and being creative when she can't make music. She makes a celebrity line and it sells. She could put someone in place to keep the line continuing, but she doesn't need to. The candy place is well known for its cotton candy flavors. MC worked with them to create new flavors and is selling them. She didn't start a candy company.

Here's hoping (78,411) by Nikki from usa
The first was promised as a true docuseries and opened to huge ratings. When she didn't deliver as promised ratings dropped like a rock. So, maybe she's doing it right this time? Also, I think some are coming at this from a wrong angle. MC had promised our South American lambs she'd be back, so this may be her way of getting back down there. Her first B.fly tour was only 13 dates, so it's possible this tour will only last a couple of months or less. If there's cameras on her again I guess this means she's getting back in shape, working on her vocals, and preparing the next great album by revisiting her Butterfly era. I loved her look of this time period. The gold goddess look. The mother nature color tones. I would love to see MC in the multi colored hair of her album sleeve with her smiling - it's one of my all time favorite pics of hers.

Re: Article: Mariah difficult on set of Will Ferrel (78,335) by Nikki from usa
I'll have to gong you there webmaster. Check the date of that article. Throwing a major celeb under the bus or any other actor in general is considered a bad move. Gossip Cop called someone in production on the set and they would've stated something favorable. We don't know what actually happened and nobody has ever asked Mariah outright about it. That aside, Will nor Amy said much about their movie while promoting it. Focusing on anything else is commonplace when the movie is crap and most scenes wind up on the cutting room floor. After her NYE performance happened and there weren't any consequences from Mariah she set herself up as an acceptable patsy. I said something to that affect earlier this year. But, The House movie people didn't say a word until a month before they were releasing the movie and used her as promotion. She was outside the U.S. no less when they did that. The bottom line is Gossip Cop wasn't wrong about what they reported at the time. The switch in their (The House crew) approach to Mariah happened after the New Year.

Slightly shocked at Despacito (78,199) by Nikki from usa
I wasn't really expecting this track to last this long and I didn't start looking at [its] stats until it hit [its] 14th week. I just assumed this was a major hit from 3 different fan bases fueling it. Which would make [its] ruling inevitable. But, that didn't turn out to be true. Don't get me wrong, it's a huge hit. However, at 14 weeks it had finished peaking the week prior and was actually tumbling down all the charts. Very slowly, but still falling. They discounted their single for 69 cents to keep their sales up for week 15. Even so, their sales still took a dip. So, they released a remix of it with Justin for sale and also sold it for 69 cents to keep [its] sales up to hit 16 weeks. Apparently, Riri had discounted her single to that much too, so it's a cross between not wanting her to overthrow them and trying to hang on to chase Mariah. I wonder what Mariah's stats would be for streaming if it had been available during the 90's? It's also ironic that the [natives] who created One Sweet Day are sharing the title of longest running #1 with foreigners. It took a Canadian and two Puerto Ricans to catch them using Mariah's hip-pop formula no less.

Mariah's new album (78,198) by Nikki from usa
I found an interview with JD from earlier this year talking about Mariah's new album. He said they've made a lot of records for it and he's trying to get her to do music that doesn't sound like "Mariah Carey". He talked about a possible collab between her and Bryson Tiller. Also, no EDM included.

Re: B (78,197) by Nikki from usa
Mariah's movie based off her book is labeled as a "home entertainment release". So, it's not going to theaters, but "The Star" is. Unlike the '90's where a movie theme was almost a guarenteed hit, that just doesn't apply anymore. Mariah's theme song for Oz didn't go very far and it was entirely handled by Disney's studios. Personally, I'm thinking Mariah's movie is just going to be another vehicle for AIWFCIY. "The Star" is going to get her name out there. She got all the way up to #11 in 2015 with a kid's book and a lipstick. She's getting even more media involved with her name everywhere this year including concerts in Vegas and New York. I think what she's really doing is gunning for that #1 spot this Christmas season.

Mariah inspired by Whitney? (78,196) by Nikki from usa
I don't see how that's possible. Mariah was signed to a record deal 3 years after Whitney's debut. Mariah and Whitney were both inspired by Aretha. Whitney's label, Arista Records, turned down Mariah for a record deal for sounding "too much" like Whitney. Ironically, they still liked her song "Someday" and volunteered to buy it from her to give to Whitney to sing. It's a good thing Mariah turned them down. But, for added irony Mottola used Whitney's producers for Mariah's debut so there's a reason there are similarities for their sound right down to the fact a Mariah original was up for consideration for Whitney to sing.

Re: Gossip Cop (78,195) by Nikki from usa
I actually appreciate the fact they'll do fact checking and get someone from the actual artists' camp to make a statement. The sheer fact Mariah wearing a ring on her middle finger is a subliminal message to an ex who lives on another continent around the world is an actual story is proof there's not much real news these days. Who would care? Who would be retarded enough to buy that? Mariah's as subtle as a bulldozer and upfront with her "shade". Her wearing it on her middle finger front and center while flicking off the camera in "I Don't" is self explanatory. She "said" her piece. However, since then, she's simply wearing it while it's been rotated between her middle, index, and thumb with other days where she doesn't wear it at all. I could show you 10 pictures from the past 3 months where she's only wearing her Butterfly ring. There's no story here.

Mariah's star (78,120) by Nikki from usa
I've actually been reading a lot of false press about this song lately. "The Star" is a song written by Mariah for the movie of the same name, but she doesn't sing it and it isn't her next single. This is another Faith Hill moment and another comedy Christmas movie.
I think Mariah made a grand move by signing her Vegas residency and she's quite vibrant onstage. But, the keyword for these concerts is "temporary". She can have fun with it for awhile, but if it goes on too long she burns out. Her heart isn't in it and no amount of people is going to light a fire that isn't there. However, in all of her 27 years in the spotlight she hasn't put out a single lackluster Christmas concert performance. Her heart is always in those. Mariah and her lambily would be happier with her making new music. "The Star" will be interesting and her remix of Unforgettable is refreshing.
In the future, I think Mariah shouldn't tour as much as she should pull a MSG thing. She could put together 1 epic concert and fill the arena. Holograms, fireworks, skits, Bianca, the works. Tape the whole thing and give exclusive rights to show it to one channel for a month. She can reap in that ad revenue. Then, sell it on dvd worldwide. At the end of the year she can allow it to be streamlined on Netflix. It's the concert that keeps on giving and will probably earn her near as much as her residency. Then, listen to people try to say she can't sing. Switch up the routine and do the same thing next year. It would help make up for all the tour dvds we've missed out on.
