"Merry Christmas II You" debuts at #1 on Billboard charts
Mariah's new Christmas album "Merry Christmas II You" debuts at #1 on Billboard's R&B Albums and Holiday Albums charts. It is only the second Christmas album in history to reach #1 on the Billboard's R&B albums chart (the first was Kenny G's "Miracles" in 1994).
"Merry Christmas II You" also debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200, eclipsing her first (and extremely successful) holiday album, "Merry Christmas", which debuted at #30 this very same week in 1994. "Merry Christmas II You" has sold over 10,000 more units than 1994's multi-platinum "Merry Christmas" in first week sales. This debut marks Mariah's 16th top 10 set.
Mariah's Christmas songs continue to dominate the Holiday Singles chart as well with "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and "Oh Santa!" sitting respectively at #1 and #2 on Billboard's Top Holiday Digital Singles chart. (MariahCarey.com)
