In that TMB thing when she said I can't compete with that, she was trying to get away from the noise. I had to watch it twice to get that. I thought she was being dramatic at first, but it was hard for her to talk over the noise.

Marissa you hit the nail on the head. I don't recall her ever having to go to such lengths to prove she's moved on or show she's in a good place. She just did it and everything else that came afterwards progressed naturally.

List of people you wish Mariah would work with (54,852)
by Licia from USA

Anyway back to the grown folk business. Lol. As the title says, who would you like Mariah to work with? What's your dream duet ? Here's my list. 1. Babyface - He has written songs with her and she has sang background for him, but I need a real duet. Don't know how this never happened. 2. Toni Braxton - It would be interesting to see how their voices would mesh together. 3. Michael Jackson - I know this can't happen now, but it would have been magical. This is a dream team as far as writing goes. I imagine them writing a song so inspirational and moving. 4. Prince - Another writing dream team. 5. Mary J. Blige - I want a real duet. Not that It's A Wrap mess. I have more but that list is really long.

I know she's never done it before. The pictures just look staged to me. I do wish her the best though. I'm going to ignore that marriage rumor as well just like I'm going to ignore that five year old calling people wetblankets. These new breed of Mariah fans are so mature. Lol.

Mariah and James / moving on (54,846)
by Licia from USA

Ok I just saw some pics of her and that guy kissing on Twitter. I hope everything works out for her. Now Nick can finally show his gf and everybody can stop attacking him on his IG because both have moved on. As long as he and Mariah put their children above anything else I could care less who they date. I'm going to be super mad if this James thing is a publicity stunt though.

Did you even read the messages that were posted about the wetsuit? Nobody was hating on Mariah. We think she's gorgeous as she is now and she doesn't need to wear things like that to cover herself because it's not flattering. We are ok with her size. We just want her to be ok with it and stop trying to hid because she doesn't look bad. That's all most of us were saying. You just ran with the part about us not liking her in a wetsuit. Lol.

Curves (54,820)

There was a point when she was maybe a tad bit smaller than she is now, and people still called her fat, but she wore those bikinis and flaunted her stuff. I believe it was around the CB era. She had on this green swimsuit. She looked amazing to me with a little extra weight. As a woman I totally understand her being self conscious and I definitely know how it feels to have many people break your spirit and make you feel less than, but she's not fat. She's older than me and I definitely would take her body right now. Lol.

I agree. I want to burn those wetsuits. Lol. I'd rather her just flaunt her curves in her swinsuit than wear that. Those things are ugly on anybody. There is a pic on Twitter where she has on a black cover up with a green bikini under. The girls are still out, but she looks gorgeous.

I think Mariah would have plenty of people to call. Maybe not Ariana or Leona Lewis (I don't think she really shaded them), but there are others who still respect and show Mariah love despite her antics. Me personally I don't need the younger artists anyway. I'm old school. Give me Deborah Cox, Toni B, Miss Janet, Patti, Anita Baker, Mary J, Babyface, Lenny Kravitz, and Prince any day over some of these younger artists. Although she's more of a new artist, I'll even take Tamar Braxton's loud mouth self. That video would be awesome to me.

I do agree that it's too soon for her to be bringing men around the children. It's possible for her to date without the kids being involved. My mom did it. I never knew my mom was dating half the time. Her having five girls was a big factor. In my 36 years of life there were only maybe three boyfriends that my sisters and I even knew about growing up because she never brought anyone around us. Before you all get on this "she's grown and can do what she wants" kick, things become different when you have kids. Both parents have to be selective of who they allow around them.

I'm happy that she did that. It's something you are supposed to do when you coparent. Put the ego aside and do the right thing. Nick's answer was great. He kept it on the kids with no mention of Mariah. If I don't know anything else I know that both he and Mariah love those kids. I hope they keep trying to remain civil in front of the kids. From personal experience there's nothing like having two feuding parents saying things about one another in front of me that they shouldn't say. The only thing I didn't like is Mariah's fans couldn't let the man enjoy his day without the smart comments.

The thing is that Nick had his own money before Mariah. He didn't have Mariah money, but he had some. I'll agree that being with Mariah brought more opportunities his way, but he wasn't broke. Many of the fans didn't know who he was or his background so they assumed he was in it for the money and was lesser. Obviously at the time his status didn't matter to her because of all the men in her life she chose to have children with him. My point is that nobody is saying whether this new man is a good guy or that he treats people well. All I'm seeing is that he's rich so she's good and she'll be happier. Last time I checked billionaires cheat and are butt holes too. Half the fans (including myself) have no idea who this man is, but they claim he's perfect for Mariah because he's rich. They can't seem to point out anything else about this man besides his monetary status.

Alleged new man (54,760)

It annoys me that people (fans especially) can only focus on this guy's money. So because he's a billionaire that means he will treat her better? People are focused on the wrong thing. I hope she will be happy. I'm glad both her and Nick have moved on and get at least get along for the kids.

Mostly all of my cassettes are gone. When I was able to buy my own music I bought every album or single on cd. I really needed to replace her first album because I played it so much it got stuck in the radio and I had to use scotch tape to put it back together. It still played pretty good. It just skipped in the one part where the tape was. My mom refused to buy me another so I did what I had to do to get my Mariah fix. Lol.

My first time hearing Mariah (54,534)
by Licia from USA

I was 12 years old when I first heard VOL on the radio. I never paid any attention to Mariah until I heard the song on the radio. I knew my sister had the first album so I went home and (her first album was on cassette tape, yeah I'm elderly lol) and I gave it a listen. After listening to the whole tape I pretty much ran off with it and never returned it to my sister. I claimed it as mine (yes I stole it lol). From that first listen on I was hooked.

New material / unreleased songs (54,527)
by Licia from USA

Don't get me wrong, I would love new material now. I always want new material. I just don't want her to put it out without being ready to promote or put her all into presenting it to the world. I also would love an album of unreleased songs. I bet Mariah has a vault full of songs like Tupac. I personally didn't need another number ones album or a re-release of the Christmas album. A double disc full of unreleased songs sounds like heaven. Lol.

I agree. I don't mind waiting for new music as long as it's good music (I'm excited for new Janet by the way, she has been missed ). The teasers are only making the fans assume that we will get new music soon and if she doesn't give it to us soon then it will be another MIAM fiasco all over again. I don't want another album where she felt she had to put it out to make it up to us for all the push backs. I got sixteen Mariah cds that will hold me over until she's fully ready to release new material. I too have been wondering how she is going to record a new album, finish out the July Vegas shows and do Christmas shows and do more shows in February. That's alot. I don't think 20 year old Mariah would have been able to handle this.

At this point I'd rather they not tease us with any info because I'm going to be extra ticked off if it's not what we want it to be (if it turns out to be a remix of a remix of AIWFCIY I'll go loony lol). If it truly is new music then just surprise me when it is ready. Lol.

Just like you are going to keep it real so are other people. You said this is not high school, but your response wasn't very adult. They have a right to express how they feel. I don't always agree, but it's an open forum and as long as they don't go too far, they are within their right to express themselves. You all are the ones who want everything to be one sided. If it's not all happy and saying Mariah can do no wrong, then in your world the opinion is not valid and people are being [...]. How is that fair?

Sissies, morons, and goats oh my (54,431)

I've seen more name calling from the so called positive lambs than I've seen from the other side. Now don't start crying when they start hitting below the belt as well. Anyway it's sad that we can't have adult conversations with different opinions without all this nonsense. If you want to believe everything is rosy and peachy in Mariahland then cool. It's your right. If some of us don't like how things are going and we feel the need to criticize, we have that right as well. Either way no side deserves to be attacked for their opinion or should be getting called out their name.

You three have made excellent points. When MIAM flopped fans immediately blamed everyone except for Mariah. JD may not have been the best manager, but I feel he got a lot of backlash unfairly. We tend to not hold Mariah responsible for anything that goes wrong. She's not a new artist. She knows this industry like the back of her hand and she knows what she needs to do to be successful. As Marissa said despite all the obstacles that people have put in her way throughout the years she still promoted her music and worked her behind off. It's not the kids, the divorce, the record company or the managers. Unfortunately sometimes it's just Mariah choosing not to do what needs to be done. Before you all go into the "you're not a real fan" rants, I have been around since 1990. I'll continue to support her as long as she makes music I enjoy, but I won't pretend like everything she does is right when something is clearly wrong. For me it's not about number ones, it's about her regaining her respect back. People can't take away her accomplishments, but all the nonsense is overshadowing what she's worked so hard to gain. People are forgetting why she's one of the greatest.

I didn't believe that Morgan said those things about Mariah until I saw the interview. It's posted on the National Enquirer website. Not sure if I can post the link so I won't. What in the heck happened between him and Mariah for him to just out her like he is doing ? I thought they were close.
