I although [also?] love the fact that Mariah's voice sounds so different on nearly every album. It's very interesting. Most singers sounds the same, I mean the voice stays the same. You're right Mandy, every lamb/fan can tell from what year and album a single or song is just because of the style Mariah sings it.

But even very smart people can make wrong decisions. I know a lot of smart people who make the worst decisions in life. Of course I don't know Stella either but there isn't one thing that I like about her. If Mariah only choose her to have fun or whatever I just don't understand it. I want to trust Mariah's instinct in business but nowadays it's hard for somebody who follows her career as a fan since 21 years.

The master plan of Crustella seems to be: 1. Make money as much as possible by working for Mariah 2. Get her daughter and relatives 15 minutes of fame by posting ridiculous pics with a superstar 3. Destroy the image of MC to get publicity like a Kadashian (maybe she thinks that's the only way to stay "relevant" and sell music) 4. Have a good time and fun 24/7 by hanging out with a grown-up woman who says she's eternally 12 As you can imagine I have no idea too what others see in that manager/woman.

I remember when I first heard Honey back in 97 I was so surprised. After hearing the whole album I thought how her voice changed. I had to play it 3 times and then I felt in love with this cd. After Daydream what really happened? Was is because of the stress in private and business? I wish Mariah would tell us but maybe it's too bad to be told.

Mariah's AIWFCIY is on radio rotation (68,719)
by MusicfanJ from Germany

I just came home and started the radio and Mariah was playing with the ultimate Christmas song. For me the season is officially here. I love MC and MCIIY so much, both are just Mariah at her best. So please no more drama for at least 4 weeks.

I understand what you mean. Of course nobody can always show the real self at every time if you are so famous like Mariah is. But I'm so tired of this "diva" and luxury thing. She's so much more than this. And a lot of people don't know, that makes me sad. Is it selfish that I miss the more "natural" Mariah? Not the girl in the field in jeans shorts but the serious artist who really cares for the fans and is the greatest without drama press. Maybe it's all because of the lost confidence. I saw her live on several concerts, she was always talking to the audience and made jokes. It seemed real and you could tell that she enjoyed her audience and the evening. I just wish that she enjoys what she's doing and that we see her again without the mask which is "protecting" her.

Mariah and "Kuschelrock" (68,614)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|
|
On a German TV-special Mariah is on the countdown for 30 years of Kuschelrock (a famous compilation with romantic songs). Again they said how Mariah dominated the 90ies with her voice and only Whitney came close to her. So true and I'm still in love with "When you believe". Perfect soundtrack song. The music of the 90ies especially the ballads were amazing. Sorry I have a "retro-phase" at the moment.

Mariah and Jazz (68,612)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|
|
I know we had a similar topic but I listened to Melody Gardot and thought Mariah should really make a pure jazz-album one day. Her MC2 has great jazz-influenced songs. It's although the royal-class of music and Mariah definitely has the ability to put her mark on it. Nothing against pop and rnb but jazz is another league. I'm pretty sure the youngsters won't buy, but the "old ones" would love and buy it. One last thing Gregory Porter and Mariah in duet, I keep dreaming.

Completley agree Licia. Only a non-talented person should take this way to get attention or whatever. I'm fine if we never get another top-ten hit. By the way Instagram is so overrated. A superstar/musician should please the fans and show the talent to others. Followers mean nothing. There are some great artists who sell music very well and aren't on Facebook and Co.

I always liked Kanye's music especially "The college drop-out" and a lot of other hit singles. Since he thought he's the greatest entertainer alive I begin to loose interest in him. As you said then came Kim Kardashian and from that moment on I couldn't take him serious anymore. This woman is one of the most unlikeable persons in the gossip news. For what is she famous in the USA? A TV-show? I just can't stand her, horrible person.

One thing is sure, nobody of us really know what happened in 2001 during Glitter. But I noticed that too. Something at that time changed her. I do understand what Andrew pointed out. Anyway Mariah was definitely not like that in public at the beginning and at her prime. I'm just happy that she's still here (superstardom must be the hell sometimes). I will never understand some things that happened in the past few months (the entertaining circus and mess with JP/Stella and so on). But her music as helped me so many times I will always be thankful for that. She has a very good soul no matter how bad the image is nowadays.

So Nick was just dating. But that he made a baby with that 29-year old model tells all. Must be the hardest time for Mariah since 2001. I wish one day she would met a "normal man" not from the showbiz who will make her happy and feel stable. Anyway if she makes a great new album with breakup songs maybe we we will get another masterpiece like Butterfly. And I do hope that Mariah enjoys the Christmas season and that the fans have a good time too. I still believe that after every storm a rainbow appears.

Nick broke her heart like Luis Miguel did. But Luis never said stupid things in the media like Nick did in the past. Anyway I'm sure with Mr. Packer Mariah would just show Nick that she can even have a billionaire who does everything for her (the yacht vacation, diamonds and have fun 24/7). Of course this is childish and like someone mentioned here, "our girl" can't stand to be alone for some time. What I fear is that Bryan Tanaka will become the "second Nick". Another thirsty good-looking young man. Although the chemistry with him is much better than with James Packer. It's really like a soap opera even without the docu-series. Unbelievable. It may be entertaining, but it's not good for the image of a star of that caliber.

I love this album too because of these reasons: 1. The way Mariah sings the ballads is just phenomenal. 2. The up-tempo songs are so much fun, even with the rappers. 3. I love the early 80ies/disco influenced songs. "All my life" is so good, the beginning, the chorus, the groove of it and of course her voice is a dream. I still think this album was ahead of its time.

1. Fire Stella 2. Get a professional management (someone who has much experience in the music business and who can handle a living legend) 3. Be natural, shut down the diva-show a little bit 4. Make music 100% from the soul with meaningful lyrics (it doesn't matter of what topic as long as it's pure and from the heart) 5. Give the media a break, don't feed them with gossip (bad press isn't always better than no press)

What's this? A leggings-suit. I'm not a person who's into fashion, but this is nothing that would look good on anybody. Hmm, I still blame Stella for this influence. If that's not the reason I'm sorry.

Good points again. I thought the same with the parody of herself. With materialistic I don't know. What makes me wonder she had nothing but become soon very rich at a very young age (when she started her career). So it's nothing new compared to a teenstar. And now with 46 she's only talking about diamonds and luxury. Lambs I just don't get it. Any suggestions?

Hey Kajal, I feel the same way. I'm becoming a sad lamb\fan too. As you sad Mariah during the Butterfly era was the best looking singer ever. I admirered her in every way. To look at her now (since new management) is really hard. I barely recognize her in the latest pics. I thought of Mary Poppins, once she said she felt like that because of the perfection (Daydream time). I wish a little of that would come back. I although loved the Rainbow tour outfits. Sexy and yes so much fun, the nice colours and everything. Again I don't want to be negative, but it feels like I loose my idol. And that hurts. Mariah is not herself nowadays. Her inner spirit is missing.

I hate these leotards. Looks like a swimsuit, something for the beach. But her dresses are so beautiful. The longer, the short ones in any color. They look wonderful on Mariah.
