My MC 2015 fantasy wish list (48,007) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End (Saturday 22 November 2014; 3:07)
PREFACE
I started out wanting to make or update my previous wish list to realizing that I'm not really that hung up on Mariah accomplishing more than she already has. That's not to say that I will not celebrate in her future commercial endeavors, obviously. Just that it's not as important as being truly spiritually fulfilled.
I wish that for myself and I pray that for other people that I love and even people I don't know or have a natural liking for. I understand that not everybody is going to get why I feel the need to post this but I would reference Mariah's own expressed Faith and core beliefs and desires since the world first heard 'Vision of Love'. This is who she has always been striving to become. I recently reread Her autobiography: 'The Meaning of Mariah Carey' and these are some of the thoughts I came away with:
"Hopes, Dreams, Wishes, and Prayers for Mariah Carey:
1. Spiritual Fulfillment - That she continues to nurture her relationship with God, leaning on Him for guidance, peace, and joy in all aspects of her life.
2. A Godly Marriage - That she finds a partner who shares her faith, values, and desire to honor God in their union.
3. Healing and Restoration - That the scars from her past—whether from childhood or past relationships—are fully healed, allowing her to live with peace and joy unshaken by old wounds.
4. Authentic Love and Support - That she surrounds herself with people who truly love, respect, and support her for who she is, beyond her celebrity persona.
5. Grace to Be Human - That she is shown grace and understanding by others, allowing her to make mistakes, grow, and evolve without judgment or undue criticism.
6. Freedom from Worldly Pressures - That she finds liberation from the entertainment industry’s materialistic and superficial values, allowing her to fully embrace her God-given identity.
7. Purposeful Legacy - That she continues to use her platform and music to inspire others and share the presence of God, as she has done through her Christmas albums and other works.
8. A Loving and Faith-Centered Family - That her family relationships, including with her children, remain strong, loving, and centered on mutual faith and respect.
9. Unwavering Faith - That she remains steadfast in her faith, even when faced with life’s challenges, and continues to be a beacon of hope for others.
10. Divine Guidance - That she discerns God’s will in her decisions, whether in her personal life or professional endeavors, and trusts His plan for her. "
In Jesus Almighty name, Amen.

B, I love you for defending me. Because in extention you are ultimately sticking up for Mariah. One hand washes the other, so to speak. God knows I don't always make it easy (by design, but still), so I appreciate it all the more. Also, I've apparently been "put in my place" but no one will tell me where that place is nor who put me there. I searched high and low (shout out to Thirsty), Googled "Baby with Pacifier" and even asked Siri (who, to be fair, is quite new at the job). All I got was the Fantasy Remix with O.D.B. So I guess Rye Playland is "my place"? I mean, I guess it could have been worse, like being stuck in a 1990-1997 timewarp living in Sing-Sing like some voluntary prisoner. Like you said B: let them eat fritos, dahling.

TJ reminds me a lot of Mariah (in one aspect only, but still). See, he hasn't changed much since the 90's MCA either. I remember. I often wonder if he knew he'd be posting the same woeful statements of disappointment, back in 1999, 15 years plus into the future? 1990-1997 is barely 7 years of actually liking Mariah Carey, the person, and her music. He admittedly has disliked her close to 20 consecutive years now. Basically, you just outed yourself a verified non-Lamb since that term first crossed over to the die-hard fandom during the Rainbow era. So why are you still here? Going so far as claiming she is just a "singer" and not an entertainer. As if those two nouns are always mutually exclusive like they are for certain dime-a-dozen bleach blondes in pop. Uhm, be sure to see Bianca on your way out before you close the door and lose the key. Implying she hasn't paid her dues and can't back her claim to fame as the most successful female artist in history? Such utter bullshit and I won't stand for it. TJ is the Mariah Carey in her response to Madonna's callous and flippant remarks. Ironic, no? Only, I doubt very much that Mariah ever goes on "Madonna Ciccone Archives" talkin' bout: I haven't really paid attention to Mariah since like 1990 to 1997, when she used to be popular? But what the hell do I know, I'll always be in 7th or 8th grade where MiMi's concerned.

I'm not easily impressed when people cover Mariah songs. If I don't hate it, it's already a major compliment. I don't hate this performance at all. Her tone is very pleasant and even though it's obvious she's a lamb (with some of her choices) she tried to make it her own. Thankfully her talent is such that she did a really good job. More please

Yay. I thought I should at least acknowledge this holiday since I'm the resident Regina George. On October 3rd we play Daydream. What a time to be online, ey? Really, I try to celebrate and honour the Mean Girl spirit everyday. Thank you to all those who make it less of a daunting task, I appreciate it. See you at the next "Book Burning", yeah?

Daydream (57,084)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
Was the first album I ever bought with my own money. I had a paper route in 7th grade. I was a newly baptised Lamb from watching the Fantasy - Madison Square Garden show(shout out to Always Be My Baby) on Swedish television and I might have cut gym or math class to go to the mall and buy the CD. I carried that gold textured disc around with me everywhere I went and played it every single day without fail. Everybody in school knew me as the #1 Mariah fangirl. It felt like Mariah had written that whole album just for me. Especially I Am Free. At one point I played and sang that song sometimes to the detriment of all the other gems on the album. It was like I Am Free feat. Daydream. But really I love all the songs. There isn't a weak link or throwaway lyric. As much as I appreciate Music Box for its thorough introduction of Mariah in my life Daydream was when Mariah became more than just another great singer or songwriter to me personally. She became an icon and a steady friend I could turn to whenever I needed an escape. No other artist was as consistently filling me up with positive energy and reimbursing my faith in God as much as Mariah apart from MJ. Today, Long Ago and Melt Away are probably the two songs I might randomly crave the most but that always changes. Even One Sweet Day, Forever, When I Saw You, the Open Arms cover and the genius Daydream Interlude still evoke in me memories of trying to do homework in my room but failing miserably because I had the album playing on full blast. I've always perused album liner notes since I was little and I remember being very impressed that Mariah wrote Underneath The Stars entirely by herself. And also produced Melt Away on her own. It seems that that vein of her artistry has not been encouraged or capitalised on very much since. But, I digress. The last track, Looking In, was probably the song that made me start to wonder about Mariah as a person because it was such a contrast to her image. That dichotomy fascinated me, knowing that someone as beautiful, talented and famous could still relate to teenage me. That revelation saved my life. For that I will always be an L4L.

TBH, Mariah's one of the last of her breed. She's always giving us glamour, moments of opulence and visual fairytales. I definitely see your Storybrooke reference Luke. Honestly? She should write a whimsical story and bring it to life one of these days. I'm convinced she already has the beginning: "We met on a Mississippi road." Classic. Just remember to give Aretha her props-ah.

"Wow, just wow" (49, 567) by Marissa from USA (Sunday 1 February 2015; 21:26): "I haven't seen so many lambs pissed all at once in a very long time. She needs to take her career seriously or sit down. Period. I don't have sympathy anymore. Someone needs to get her a therapist and life coach and let's get this show on the road. If she's that emotionally wounded then she needs to stop performing. This performance was an even bigger confirmation of why I am not wasting my money on tickets to anything unless she shows consistent excellence in image and performances. I'm staying right at Caesar's this summer and I'm still not considering seeing the show. I refuse to throw money away. I totally agree with Ardis. At least have the respect for your fans money (caps) to try. That's my message to the people who always make excuses for her. It isn't funny or cute for people not to get their money's worth when they are spending hundreds/thousands to see someone who doesn't care." Wow Indeed Marissa. Tell us how you really feel, because that is quite the contrast to your most recent post from today: "Re: Mariahisms" (57, 026) by Marissa from USA (Thursday 1 October 2015; 18:23): "I was thinking the same thing when I heard him say that. That felt like a mini victory for the lambily in that moment." I find the 180° turnaround very uhm, interesting?

Max Beesley a.k.a. DJ Julian Dice is part of Luscious Lyon's prison crew on Empire. I love seeing them together in the same frame. Such a callback. I wonder if when Mariah comes on they would ever do that, put all of them (Billie, Julian and Walker) together in a scene. Shout out to Da Brat. Also Thirsty (and his discount aubergine suits) is my new favourite character for obvious reasons.

I'm in love with this little girl and her lyrical dance interpretation of Infinity. Wow. Such passion and joy. Mariah inspires so many children to ferociously go after their dreams, whatever they may be, and I think that's her greatest legacy when all is said and done. No award will ever match how positive her true impact on the World has been and will continue to be. This is just another testament to that.

No worries, I was mainly addressing the ones desperately trying to paint me as a bully, because I'm one of the few who will always hold them accountable to what they write, and whomever liked their posts. The Madonna discussion was just a very convenient juxtaposition I used to get my point across.

Yeah, supposedly I'm the big bad wolf around here a.k.a. the all-purpose bully. Meanwhile, Madonna is having a historical whitewashing revival in every other post, two pages deep. The same woman who at one point said Mariah wasn't particularly bright (probably for turning down an appearance in her desperate coffee table "Sex" book ) and that she would commit suicide if she were Mariah Carey. (I'm paraphrasing, but whatever.) [censored] Well, that was a lie. I don't wonder at all. [censored] Sadly, it never fails. Here is the clip with the reference quote from Madonna: "I'd rather kill myself than be Mariah Carey." This is the person you decide to bring on this board as an example of, well, hell if I know. But I'm the one who's the bully, right? Right.

Bill, you say that like it's a bad thing. The true art of shade requires a lot of quick wit, class and intelligence. Being rude and crass is not being shady. That's just being rude and crass. Anybody can be a bitch. But it takes skill to be as ice cold as Mariah can be without detection by the casual observer. Also, being a genuinely sweet person as Mariah actually is doesn't mean she can't be petty or give as good as she gets. She's human, things people say and do to her get to her just like they get to anyone else and sometimes it comes out whether she likes it or not. She's a real person and I don't expect her to be perfect all the time, or anytime really. There are worse character flaws one could cultivate than occasional shadiness. At least she has a sense of humour about it. Some people could stand to be a little less uptight about things. It's so funny to me how people don't take Mariah seriously when it actually matters the most to her and then turn right around and give her hell when she's clearly joking. Come on.

This whole article is gold. Especially the part where Alan Taylor says that Mariah is a "Game of Thrones" fan. That will never be not-funny. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. I hope that during Mariah's next talkshow couch session we get to hear some of the BTS stories from this Game of War shoot. I'm sure it's all epicly hilarious.

So, 5 hours after MC's tweet Jermaine basically copied her message: "It's like that y'all." And not an hour ago Mariah tweeted this: "Winter vibes in Aspen" with this picture. There's a Klingon proverb that goes: "Revenge is a dish best served cold." I love MiMi so much for this. Hahahaha.

I'm excellent at reading situations and behaviour, I do it on the daily in my own life. That's a talent of mine, not everybody has that. People in general fascinate me and being a Lamb I've honed in on Mariah's ticks, quirks and idiosyncrasies over the years. Really, it's like reading the lyrics to her songs. Some of them are pretty generic and nondescript while others are extremely personal and specific. Only a real Lamb would know the difference so I understand the confusion some of you struggle with who will never get it. Instead you will grab onto frivolous, baseless gossip that makes no sense coming from a supposed fan. Like when some idiots were going around saying how Mariah told French fans in a van she was unhappy at Sony and with LA Reid when she was in Paris recently. Complete fabrications and I already debunked that ridiculous claim and even if I hadn't, who later spoke at Mariah's Hollywood Walk Of Fame star ceremony? LA Reid, that's who. I didn't see Jermaine Dupri anywhere, why wasn't he there giving a speech or even in the audience? He's been around significantly longer than anyone of her major collaborators except Brett Ratner and yet he was ghost. It couldn't possibly be that he went out of his way to disrespect her work ethic, musical legacy, success and intelligence on more than one occasion unprovoked, could it? I'm amazed at having to spell it out for people, fans or not, who should already be in the know as often as they frequent and post on a Mariah Carey message board. I mean, are you being deliberately obtuse? That then begs the question, why? Either way, it ain't a good look sis.

James Monroe Iglehart (such poetry in name, no?) just posted this picture and captioned it on his Instagram: "So this just happened. The beautiful butterfly herself. MC & JD on Twitter (56,928)

JD (sub)tweeted out his horoscope a couple of days ago which started out like this: "Happiness may be as elusive as a butterfly now, but it's clear. More for Libra." Mariah just tweeted at Jermaine a few hours ago: "It's like that y'all" plus a picture of the lyrics: "Cause it's my night. No stress, no fights. I'm leaving it all behind. No tears, no time to cry. Just making the most of life." Now, this exchange does not come across very conducive to any more collaborations between these two. I don't know, but I could be right. I guess only time will tell. I made sure to double checked the dates this time Eric.

OK, the thing is, 1D have had the Infinity symbol as part of their brand for a while. Neclaces of paper airplanes and the infinity directioner is available everywhere as merch. So it's not that out of the blue that they would have a song with that name. But that doesn't mean that the 1D connection to Mariah is irrelevant, it certainly isn't. If anything MiMi is having a good laugh at all of it. Like everything I like these days, it's so meta.

Which is remarkable since it's only September and Jordan a majority muslim country. But I guess that sort of makes sense in a roundabout way since Christmas isn't really a holiday they celebrate. How cool is that? Look. True transcendence. Hopefully it's a sign of peace with all that's going on in the region that things will ultimately be all right. God bless.
