I meant 2008's "Touch My Body" not 2009's "Obsessed".

I laughed so hard when I read "She will think Christmas came early". Why was the tag even necessary? Are we now going to engage in social media feuds? Seriously what is going on? Wendy will have the best time reporting this. She finally got "directly" referenced by Mariah after 2009's "Obsessed". This was an unnecessary move. Just post the video and that's it. I said it before I'll say it again, get the 13 year old and her 13 year old level minded mother off Mariah's social media and hire professionals otherwise we will get more petty posts and Mariah will be the one being laughed at.

Yes the whole "Don't come for us" thing is a little too aggressive for Mariah. The best way to shut down someone is to pretend they don't exist. To post 3 consecutive videos about this Wendy comment kind of makes it look like this thing got to her. Which it shouldn't because Wendy has said far worse about her and she never flinched.

Mariah-Lee video (62,725)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
The video is cute and fun but why is Wendy tagged in the caption? I didn't notice it first but she is tagged in both the Facebook and Instagram posts. Is she going to the show to promote her docu-series or did she write that as a response to Wendy's claim that Lee was dissing Mariah? Because since when does Mariah take anything Wendy say seriously? Even if she does she never responds to it, which keeps her above Wendy. If she is going on the show, well then the tag is fine (I don't know how I feel about her going there, I mean Wendy might faint and all). But if this is a Wendy backlash, then it's a no no from me. But yes, the video is cute. Love seeing carefree Mariah and Lee.

Mariah's video to Wendy Williams / Stella (62,724)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |
|
|
Okay, this is too far now. After initially being wary of her, I started to warm to Stella thinking that I'd got caught up in the lamb-hate-hype. I can now see that she is a bad influence. Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that Mariah is a grown woman who can make her own choices, but she's been making some very strange ones recently and whilst I don't fully blame Stella, I definitely think her influence is affecting Mariah's judgement. One of the things I've always loved about Mariah is she doesn't respond to criticism, or if she does, she does it in a very subtle/classy way. This video seems somewhat aggressive, and the fact she's tagged Wendy Williams in the caption just seems so unlike the Mariah I know. I'm so confused about what is going on at the moment. Whilst there are lots of great things in the pipeline, this era is shaping up to be a bit of a bizarre mess. Maybe RaeRae, JD and the rest of the old team were yes men, but at least Mariah seemed happy. At the moment she seems neurotic and heavily influenced, and I genuinely think it's damaging her reputation. Enough of the staged antics. Enough of the drama. Just go back to being the incredible singer and songwriter we originally fell in love with.

Everything but the music (62,723)
by 123 from USA

|
|
I understand everyone wanting new music as I want it too, but the reason why we haven't gotten any new music is simply because she hasn't had time. There is no point in rushing something out only for it to fail because everything isn't right. Look at the last album, she had a lot of potential hits and there was barely any promotion and she barely performed. When she did perform, she was stiff and the vocals were bad. Now she has lost the weight and she is finally focusing on the part of her music career that has needed improve on for the last 6-7 years, her live act. Her performances were scarce and iffy during that period. Now she is constantly performing and touring. She keeps improving with each performance and seems to have a new focus on taking more care of her voice. Fans from all over the world have more access to see her perform in the flesh either on tour or in Vegas. I think she needs to continue Vegas and go on a South American leg of her tour so she can continue to improve her performances. That way when she is ready to drop new music she will vocally be able to deliver great performances live for tv. After the tour she needs to work on three hot songs that can be potential singles. Release something in the fall to coincide the with the docuseries. I'd be cool with that for now.

Thanks for posting about it May. Some of us are not on social media like myself so I had no idea. I loved the video, and why is Mariah reprising her kicks from the Heartbreaker video? Lol. Glad there is no drama between them, as his comments were not meant maliciously.

Clapback at Wendy Williams (62,721)
by Nick from Maryland
| |
|

I think it's pretty obvious that Mariah didn't even write the whole "He's the bitch that's fragile. Don't come for us unless we call for you" line as her version of shade is paying Wendy dust, which is what she has been doing. Obviously something Stella wrote since it's also on her Instagram. Just starting more unneeded drama that makes Mariah look bitter.

I fail to see how attaching yourself to any empire, which its sole purpose is to create money, is a sign of "passion". "Kathy Ireland" and "Jessica Simpson" don't perpetuate their businesses, the companies and teams they signed on with do. Just like Mariah's deal with Elizabeth Arden for her perfume empire. The leading ad-on comes up with ideas, does their part, and leaves it to the company to perpetuate and get it out there. If Mariah was simply after money she wouldn't be making TV movies with the Hallmark Channel. That's laughable. She'd be interested in making an empire. Last time I checked she gave us Triumphant and folks didn't like it. People claimed they wanted Mariah vocals and a piano. We got it, yet, more complaints. More whining ensued about a more mature album, she gave that too, and no one bought it. She gave out her old hits with something "different and new" like people claimed they wanted with Infinity. More complaining. Now, we're demonizing Mariah for getting involved with interests she's talked about for years because, apparently, she's doing too many things. Which has now been chalked up to greed. She gave 25 years, that's a quarter of a century, of giving us music. I think she's allowed to spend a few years dabbling in other hobbies without being labeled greedy just because you want new music right now. I don't know how anyone can take on 5 hats of a movie project, nearly doing it themselves, and call that not passionate. That's a lot of time and energy to devote to something you don't give a crap about. The big picture is certainly not being grasped when my whole point is these things are platforms to distribute new music from while the complaint is she's doing these things instead of pushing new music.

These people (62,719)
by Marissa from USA
| |
|
|
Now we all know that Mariah's been paying Wendy dust since she mentioned her in TMB eight years ago. Now her latest Instagram video has Wendy Williams tagged in it. I'm pissed. Wendy is one of those people who will say the most ridiculous things about you because she is hoping and praying that you will pay attention to her. Now the Bulochnikovs have thrown this heifer a bone which is exactly what she wanted instead of giving her the J-Lo treatment. I hope I don't get nauseous when I see Wendy's cheesy ass grin whenever she reports on this. She's gonna think Christmas came early. When will "these people" go away?

"Mariah has proven herself as an actress." Mariah is to acting what J.Lo is to singing. Actually that's a little unfair on J.Lo. Mariah is to acting what Mariah is to lip-syncing. She's awful. Everybody knows she's awful. The only person who doesn't seem to know she is awful is Mariah, herself. It is an ego trip gone too far. Precious involved a few minutes of donning awful make-up and acting pissed off. It was okay, in that it was surprising, because it wasn't totally terrible. Wise Girls? Terrible acting. Glitter? Terrible acting. That crap road movie? Terrible acting. A Christmas Melody? Terrible acting and terrible everything else. Why is nobody grabbing her by the cheeks and screaming, "You can't f**king act. Stop embarrassing yourself." Mariah Carey is a singer-songwriter and a pretty good one, and she would do well to remember it and go and bloody do it. I would not be surprised if Hallmark are praying for these movies to be absolutely awful. Because they would become cult classics. Joe Public wants to see the vain Mariah Carey make an ass of herself. And here she is directing herself bloody doing it. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Re: Celine vs Aretha and Patti (62,677) (62,716)
by Andrew from UK

That ol' chestnut. Been a little while since that one's been given an airing. "Holding back out of respect." Hmmm. Right. It wasn't the frickin' Aretha Franklin tribute show. Were all the singers supposed to stand next to Aretha and half-ass into the microphone to make Aretha feel better? Aretha Franklin, who visibly and audibly wanted people to bounce off and sing with her properly. Please, let's all just start being a little more honest. Mariah, arguably smashed it on Chain Of Fools, depending, probably on what you were looking for, it being a good song for her. Mariah's voice strained and cracked on Natural Woman and it was a cringe few minutes. Celine smashed it. Everyone can bloody see and hear it. "Holding back out of respect" is so desperately transparent there's some sort of Windex joke here somewhere.

So Celine was so good it must have been lip sync even though she doesn't look like she's lip syncing. She's just too good at it, and isn't. And the industry picks on Mariah. So essentially, Celine, good - Mariah, victim. Mariah's a victim. Again. Another day another crock of shit.

It is mainly their nicknames for each other. Lee is "Cotton" and Mariah is "Kitten". I forgot why it started but ya it's what they nicknamed each other. If Stella has the hashtag in her account then it's possible the photo has Mariah and Lee.

The "real" Mariah is sweet and even a bit shy. Nobody can be an actor for let's say 13 years. People can change but you see if somebody is with the innerself or just playing to feel more confident. I know some people who look sexy and don't feel so. But if you get hurt, you will not show how you really feel. It's more safe. Look at Lady Gaga I'm sure in private she's not so "crazy". But it's dangerous if you believe the created character is real. So many big stars created a new self for fame. Marilyn Monroe is one of the best-known for that. But you're right you can never look inside.

Stella allowing her to be...? Nobody can allow you to be the real you. And if it really is a parasite host type of relationship, as I think it is, then the host is almost always harmed and modified from their real nature. Even if just manager and client, one is not allowed to be. I hope Mariah realizes where the hero lays.

Hallmark Channel deal: desperate or good business? (62,705)
by B from USA

Mariah Carey isn't desperate. This Hallmark deal is helping her hone her skills behind the camera as a director. Hollywood is more ageist than the music industry. Mariah has proven herself as an actress but she isn't going to be able to deliver an award worthy performance while also directing. I'm looking forward to the upcoming movies and the three new songs.
