Was Celine the original JLo? (112,832) by Lambi from USA Honestly, yes. When you consider how high-budget Titanic was, the most expensive movie ever made at the time, it makes complete sense. The film had a massive budget of about $200 million, which in 1997 was completely unprecedented. Heck, that is still very expensive even by today's standards. And knowing how eager Mariah was to break into the movie world, she likely would have put her personal preferences aside and agreed to it. Sometimes a director has such a fully realized vision that the smartest move is to humble yourself and simply deliver what is being asked of you. In this case, it's just to sing. You would also have to be a fool to pass up such a ridiculously ginormous opportunity. Céline was valid for rejecting it because she had just done Beauty and the Beast and was rightfully tired of theme songs, but Mariah did not have a major soundtrack moment yet. And man was she hungry for some credibility. She did When You Believe as an extreme exception, and she was kind of tricked into it. Babyface told each of them that the other one had already agreed to do the song. She did not want to look difficult or back out of something that big. In the end, it worked out for the best because that was actually iconic. Arguably, the best two voices God gifted us, in one song. And with Almost Home, this was way post-Glitter. Mariah had already been extremely humbled when it came to soundtracks. She was already a mom by then, and all she did was watch Disney movies with dem babies, so when Disney offered her the opportunity, of course she took it. I remember she was so happy talking about it because that Disney soundtrack moment coincided with the twins' 2nd birthday and their 5th wedding anniversary, which they celebrated in Disney land as well. I dreamt the strangest dream (112,812) by T from USA I had the strangest dream about Mariah, it was so life like. She had performed Nothing Is Impossible at the Olympics but then the dream flashed to the Super Bowl which was a few days later and Bad Bunny had brought out one guest and that guest was MC. She walked out in skinny blue jeans and and a white cropped top with a long leather jacket, curly hair. She started doing the first verse of [Fantasy] and then stopped right in front of Bunny. Then together they started doing some hot strange version of Obsessed. The crowd loved it. After the halftime show it was revealed that Mariah's Here For It All Deluxe album will be coming out with a brand new "Obsessed Bad Bunny Remix" (feat. Bad Bunny). I didn't stay asleep long enough to find out but I'm sure it became Mariah's 20th #1 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100. (Tuesday 30 December 2025; 14:11)

I think they did it how you said, using old recordings of his voice and adding her voice to the song. That might sound nice if someone did that to her old recordings and added other singer's voices to make it a duet. They could even change the music too. She could even add embellishments with her current voice. I've always said Mariah's voice changes about every three albums. It's like she's a completely different singer. Obviously Beyonce and Rihanna are too big now. Rihanna doesn't really take vocals seriously. Christina is forever mad about being uninvited. Jennifer and Ariana already came true with Oh Santa. Ariana and Tori also did When You Believe for funsies, but yes I would like a proper cover. I hear Tori Kelly, Ari and Jojo completely slaying Babydoll with a triple harmony. It sucks because this is such a fun idea but I bet all the pop girlies wouldn't dare (even more now) since Muni sensitive Long put Mariah out of context and is forever butt hurt about a comment Mariah made that was nowhere near being aimed towards her. Dress (112,294) by Lambi from USA You're correct. She did mention they had a whole police escort to get the dress delivered just in time. But I wouldn't take that as a definitive sign of Alzheimer's. It's actually really common in the industry for costumes to be finished at the very last minute, sometimes even seconds before a show. If you asked her about the 2005 AMA performance, she could easily confirm that her dress was being sewn right up until showtime, because she was just performing by herself. But both hers and Whitney's dresses were both done by Vera Wang, so I can see why she might be mixing up which dress was late, because there's two of them that had to be styled. Truthfully though, I think Mariah wanted to have the better cut of the dress so she possibly asked the designer to edit it last minute. Then, it's relevant to hold her accountable for the fact that all you have to do is Google "Sephora boycott" and the first three stories that pop up have to do with a Christian woman who sings songs about Jesus, but is dedicating her talent to the people who are destroying the lives of the people born where he lived and was literally executed by the state because he was committed to being an authentic enough version of himself that he became a threat to the goals of the Roman empire. Mariah Carey, who is not broke, chooses to use what she calls her God-given talent to enrich people "making large donations to former President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign" while she sings "its tiiiiiime" to listen to her lip sync "glory to the newborn King" and "peace on earth". While she partners with Sephora, company owner Bernard Arnault invests hundreds of millions in Israeli companies while that nation is actively committing what everyone whose opinion counts has acknowledged is a genocide. She sings about diamonds and comments in public that she doesn't understand why some people don't "like" diamonds, all the while Sephora founder, chairman, and CEO Bernard Arnault - who invests hundreds of millions in Israeli companies, including Lusix, an Israeli diamond company - donates millions of dollars to companies from the country whose diamond exports fund over $1 billion of the Israeli Occupation Forces budget annually. LVMH's Sephora stores retail products from Ahava, one of the top 8 companies on the BDS boycott list for stealing Palestine's natural resources, eviscerating its environment, and operating in illegal settlements. So it matters that Mariah Carey is either too ignorant, too greedy, or both to make a morally intelligent decision at her age. With all the capacity she has to know better and do better, she is actively and willfully doing far less than people who have with far less but are, themselves, putting their lives and careers on the line in order to be the kind of witness to peace and love that Mariah only sings about in her songs - her notable charitable contributions notwithstanding. And let's not forget, in her personal life, Mariah Carey made the choice to date James Packer - a man who (allegedly) gave war Benjamin Netanyahu a key to his home - also the man whose gifts to Benjamin Netanyahu are the reason why Benjamin Netanyahu is currently up on corruption charges. These are her choices. She is not simply failing to burn her bra on stage and release a protest album. She is actively earning money with some of the most evil people currently on the world stage today. That matters - and saying so has nothing to do with "arrogance". If Eartha Kitt can do better, Mariah Carey can do better. If Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Sinead O'Connor, Lauryn Hill, and the artists formerly known as the Dixie Chicks can do better (and they certainly did), then Mariah Carey can at least Google herself and recognize that she is being exposed as a fraud (again) and do something about it now. And yes, I still love "Confetti and Champagne", because she's a phenomenal singer, a very clever songwriter, and the song is super cute. But it sounds a little different right about now. I genuinely appreciate his integrity when it comes to live performances. He actually got Mariah to sing fully live on a televised number. Yes, fully live. Not a single note was lipped. The last time I remember Mariah performing entirely live on TV was back in 1999 when she was promoting I Still Believe, with the rare exception of AIWFCIY on Fallon in 2013, though that one felt more like a casual kickback jam session than a proper, teched-up performance. 1999 was 26 years ago. We finally have an authentic live TV performance. We've waited way too long for this. It fills a void that's been missing for decades. Her voice may be more limited now, but I appreciate that it's 100% live, her integrity is so refreshing. Taylor Swift didn't just debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, she made history by having all 12 tracks from "The Life of Showgirl" debut in the top 12 positions on the Billboard Hot 100. I haven't seen anything like this before. With 3.5 million pure album sales, and over 4 million including streaming, this was almost expected, but it's still absolutely mind-blowing. I wish I could fully connect with her music, but I'm genuinely happy for her success anyway. I remember how we all used to celebrate every time Mariah scored a #1 or broke a new record. I created MariahWorld.com (formerly FantasyLand) in February 1998 on Geocities, in fact. I sadly lost the site suddenly one day in about 2004 - the web host shut down without notice and I was unable to protect the domain from being pilfered. It was an upsetting time for me, having spent so much time on that site, so it was touching that you remembered. Still adore Mariah with all my heart, a fan since the beginning. What a wonderful journey we've all shared. Shout out to Eric for his endless efforts with this site, which has been around since that era. There was no better discography. Truly special. Here For It All (111,919) by Edward from USA If I'm not mistaken, they were called Mariah's 3: MCArchives, MariahDaily, and MariahHero. Eric probably remembers that better. [Webmaster: The third one was MariahConnection.] MariahHero was the first to go, the webmaster got upset because Mariah toured but skipped his country. Back then, that site was a goldmine for MP3s and media. Years later, MariahDaily shut down too. Their news section was amazing great, but their message board never took off because you couldn't speak freely or say anything remotely critical about Mariah, so it turned into a total snooze fest. Then we had this site, which had the best discography archive, singles, international releases, everything. Eric eventually stopped updating once Mariah stop releasing physical singles. I don't remember all the details, but I recall Eric used to release a magazine-style collection of Mariah photos until he got hit with a cease and desist, and that was that. MCArchives outlived them all because this board has always kept it real. Sure, we're a little dysfunctional at times, but there's always been a balance. Plenty of people have tried to turn this place into another "MariahDaily" echo chamber, but thankfully, they never succeeded. If it were for the "yass queens" or the oversensitive ones, we wouldn't be here. What's kept this board great is that we've always been able to have different opinions. Back when fans first started noticing Mariah's voice changing, and many were deep in denial, there were basically two groups here: the UK Gang and the US Gang. Moderation was minimal, so blood was constantly spilled on the board. Some fans were so blinded by devotion that even when Mariah's boobs finally came out of the closet became they were impossible to hide, they still swore they were so big due to her wearing push-up bras. Eventually most of those fans came to their senses when those push up bras didn't seem to work for their own bosoms. Those were the days. (Thursday 16 October 2025; 17:33)

Music Box, Merry Christmas, Butterfly, Ones, Rainbow, and Mimi all got deluxe/special releases. Hell, even MIAM, Memoirs, and E=MC2 got Amazon special releases. It's obvious she hates the Emotions album so I'm never surprised when it is paid dust. But Madame Daydream? She is quick to remind people of the hits from the album, she is quick to praise UTS, she is quick to accept the praise for the groundbreaking Fantasy remix, she is quick to tell you she directed 2 videos this era. Something charity related. It would be funny if they did that AI song I Don't Know Her SNL style. They could lock themselves up together somewhere beautiful to hash out their beef and work that karma out. I'm almost certain they would come out of that experience best friends. I think they both need that. It's lonely at the top. Not a lot of other people can relate to their lives and success. Jennifer seems like a solid person. I don't think she would throw MC under the bus. Maybe when she was young and desperate for success she would have but age and life usually make us wiser. Even if Mariah doesn't respect her musical talent, there has to be something she respects about her. Even if it is only her talent at being a celebrity. Jennifer really does come off as very likable. Honestly, that and her looks are what got her as far as she got IMO. And she is a hard worker. That's noticeable. She's always trying to be better and doesn't take her opportunities for granted. What she lacks in natural talent, she makes up for in hard work, looks, and likability. The best art is when people bleed out for it. They could get all those feelings out and write a song about it. Even better if it's a funny song. MC needs to clear up this karma so everything starts moving smoothly again. It's causing blockages right now. Energetic constipation. Ha ha. A funny song with Eminem would be talked about too but I don't know if I trust him to not throw her under the bus. We don't know if she would never cover a current artist's song. Has she said that? I'm giving suggestions of things that would get her talked about in a positive way. Covering one of Taylor's relatable songs would get her talked about if it sounds good. Taylor wouldn't throw her under the bus, either. Taylor's careful with her energy. Taylor is like Mariah in that way, they usually only come for people who came for them first. Another thing, she needs to give back. She could do something like Fiona Apple did when she donated royalties from her song "Criminal" to the While They Wait fund, which helps refugees. Orange is the New Black started using it as their intro song at the height of its popularity. I'm pretty sure Fiona didn't do it for that reason but it got her song heard again. Maybe she could do a charity thing with Jennifer Lopez for a cause they both care about. Last thing, I don't know if he would do it but I think Steven Wilson should produce her covers album. His albums are always so precise and clean and crisp. He's a Scorpio. He's a musical genius (IMO) and probably knows al lot of good studio musicians who could work on the album.
