Trevor Noah - the Daily Show (95,930) by ADAM from USA This interview was fire. Mariah looked beautiful and radiant. Never seen her look so pared down and basic. Really enjoyed how articulate she was. She was engaging and so connected with Trevor. Trevor’s questions were so good and he was genuinely interested in getting the best out of her. They both had wonderful chemistry. This was how a interview should be conducted. This interview was easily 1 of her 3 best ever (Genius interview, Oprah 2020 interview, Trevor Noah interview). I own the book for the nostalgia but hearing her voice tell her story and hearing her laughter and singing between the chapters is amazing. She sings acapella and many songs. Out here on my own (95,613) (95,614) by ADAM from USA Head is blown out of the water. I can't believe she kept this hidden for so many years. Beautiful tone and not overdone. Could have fit perfectly with Glitter. I see why she may have left it out of the movie as Reflections was Bille's piano moment. However, the lyrics and vocal performance should have warranted that this song be on the soundtrack or as a bonus side. Easily, this song is one of Mariah's best songs she's sung. So perfect and beautiful. Such a joy to receive especially nowadays. Thank you Mariah for feeding the lambs. We don't deserve you. (Friday 18 September 2020; 15:12)

Re: Dear Delulons (95,236) (95,243) by ADAM from USA Wow Andrew. What you articulated was so profound and carefully listed out. I respect it. It's what I've been feeling for so many years about Mariah. Her best music was during the Sony years and when she was under the careful guidance of Tommy's thumb. It's evident to anyone who follows her career as closely as we do, that her personal vices are what lead to her vocal decline. As much as we want her voice to return to its heyday, it's not unless Mariah is ready to confront her demons. Unfortunately, Mariah has enough fame and fortune to rest on her legacy and churn out mediocre songs with an unpleasant shrill to her once pristine voice. As much as Tommy was overbearing, it was under his watch that Mariah kept her voice in good shape and worked with amazing partners to produce a catalog of music that is loved for all-time. Tommy said in his memoir that his experience in the business led him to see a raw talent like Mariah and knew that she had x amount of years while her gift was in great shape to produce great music. Then afterwards she could retire and go into the sunset and enjoy her success. Seems like in the end that's exactly what happened. Again, thanks for composing such a detailed account of where Mariah's career has started and ended up today. I can tell it was made from the perspective of someone who loves MC and also is equally as tough on what is really going on behind the scenes and in front of our eyes. Re: Save The Day (95,146) (95,150) by ADAM from USA I also feel STD is 2 separate songs. I'll start out with the positive comments. Mariah is a beast when it comes to spotting out the best parts of a song to sample. The chorus is fire and really ear candy. The worst parts of the song are her thin-whispery voice in-between. Her pronunciation is terrible and her voice is so fragile and mouse-like. I also fear her voice is deteriorating very fast and wonder what will be left in 5 years time. For such an old song in the vault, I felt she could have developed much better vocal delivery. If I had to guess what it was, I would presume it's her alcohol consumption that makes her voice in bad shape. It's interesting to watch old clips of her stating how smoke and alcohol makes her voice vulnerable and yet, it's those same voices that have consumed her and her voice now. I think she wasted a great Lauryn Hill sample TBH. I also don't like she has Lauryn Hill as a feature when it's a copy and paste sample and not a new recording. Very lazy and mis-telling. Re: Mariah on GMA (95,021) (95,031) by ADAM from USA Normally I'm harder on MC, however living in a post-covid world, I need to share this thought I have. Whatever MC decides to put out into the world, it's truly for the love of her fans. She doesn't need to do anything for the money anymore. She has all the money and security to go anywhere she wants without ever opening up her mouth. The 2 GMA songs were expertly enhanced. It took me several watches to discern this. Nevertheless, the quality was outstanding. She composed 2 songs for the enjoyment of her fans and to promote her 2 projects. I think as fans, we have to acknowledge she is human and is subject to age and decay. Her instrument is not what it used to be. She/we all know this. That's ok. We have the memories and the records to listen to. We shouldn't make her feel bad about the fact she isn't what we want her to be. It's actually quite cruel to not let people age gracefully. She is a gift to the world everyday she is still here. She has the most extraordinary talents (voice/lyrics/production) one could only wish they had. Let's give thanks and honor her while she's alive to see her flowers. I can't wait for the book and rarities album. Thank you Mariah for sharing your gifts with the world. We are forever grateful. Mariah on GMA (95,004) by ADAM from USA I am in utter ans complete shock. Cannot believe how great she performed. Her voice was in perfect form - warm, full, round - and in record condition. Her breathes were natural and her voice not nasal. I will say it's in her top 5 performances ever. Maybe it's just me, but I felt her love and emotion and gratitude in every note and inflection. This was her most genuine performance to date. It really comes across she loves her fans, and perhaps her fans saved her. So proud and happy to have witnessed this incredible moment. I've come to really love her raspy texture and ad-libs that are different from the actual recordings. Much more satisfying. I remember initially hating the Jamaica concert and now in 2020 I can't watch it enough. I love all her ad-libs and sound of her voice. She was in great shape that night and is really very funny. How I wish the entire concert was recorded. It's very hard to find long videos of Heartbreaker and Emotions. Fingers crossed she does it again in Jamaica. (Tuesday 28 July 2020; 16:33)

All in Your Mind - 2nd take (94,700) by ADAM from USA My mind is blown to pieces. This is amazing in every way. I am stunned she released this. She really loves her fans so much. You can see from the cover art that she's such a perfectionist. She recorded the song in 2 final takes and released to us the other option. Her tone and run is chill-inducing. I think I agree with MC why she chose the album version as its more polished and grand, however this version gives me goosebumps and needs to be released for the lambs. Who wouldn't purchase the debut album with 2nd takes of all the songs? I love to see her musical process. I'm so happy she's comfortable enough to release these gems to us. We love her in all the ways. For her old tone and agility to her gifts now. When [you're] a real fan, [you're] grateful for "moments" that have happened and that we can all share. She's home bound now and I don't see this being a big inconvenience at all. She has the best lighting at home and all she has to do is go on IG live and talk directly to her fans. I would much prefer MC just perform select shows and tour in support of the new album versus this over saturation of touring. She is killing her voice and legacy. The same boring setlist and stunts. She doesn't need the money. She was wonderful on the James Corden show. It was everything I needed and thought was lost. High confidence plus stellar live vocals. I want to remember her this way. I wish she'd be a studio rat again and only come out when the album is complete. The incessant touring and paparazzi staged photos are a drab. Beyonce excels in this area - she makes music and is seen only when she wants to. It's all curated and always excellence with her. Mariah used to be this way. She needs to return to her glory. I would love a jazz album and her redoing her earlier work in the arrangements she originally wanted. I’m still waiting for her to release that Beautiful dance recording she sampled on a interview she did for the fans before she broke her arm. It was very David Morales like. Christmas in NY sounded beautiful and should be a full song. A 4th Christmas album would be welcomed by me. Still waiting for Hypnotize and Weakness of the Body from her demo cassette. Mariah became #1 again because of her 1994 voice and producing team. Those golden years are far far away. I don’t think it’s healthy to have these unrealistic expectations that she will be on top again. We should enjoy her output for what it is - quality music from a quality artist. She seems energized by the new team she has and all the love she has received from the music industry as of late. All the love and accolades she is witnessing unfortunately many of her peers have died before the public showed their affections. I am grateful Mariah is alive and well to receive all this love. Here's hoping 2020 brings another banner year with the new memoir and album. I don't care if she gets another #1. I'm at the point where anything she puts out I always get and respect the quality she puts into it. She's reserved her right to make the music she loves and not for the charts. Never insinuated Mariah is the devil or witch. Just stating IMO she should articulate the history of these records with the names of the men who helped. It’s not shade, just facts. Giving credit to Tommy and Walter (91,830) by ADAM from USA I just think Mariah wants history to remember to her as the sole talent behind her music which is understandable. However, in a digital age where everything is recorded, she cannot deny some very important facts. Tommy Mottola - not the record company as she vaguely likes to say - was the one who insisted she record a Christmas album and to keep Hero. Not taking anything away from those masterpieces, those specific decisions were instrumental to her massive success. Walter A is another key producer. Sure Mariah has hits for years on end, but none to the scale of the work MC and Walter made. I really dislike that fans on here, can't listen to the critique for what it is. I love MC as much as everyone else here. That's why we use this site daily. It's a great community. However, I shouldn't have to always preface every statement I make with a mile long page of compliments before I go into critique mode. In closing, I wish Mariah would give these two men the proper credit where it's due. Thank goodness Mariah word of mouth isn't the sole source of history because many lambs would be in a river of denial. My references I speak of are Tommy Motorola's autobiography and Walter A's many interviews throughout the years. Neither of these sources made Mariah out as bad or invalid. In fact, they were complimentary, however facts are facts. The best talents in the world are only that because of the guidance they received along the way. No shade. Just stating facts. Variety - Walter A (91,815) by ADAM from USA Loved this interview. Came across heartfelt, articulate, and sincere. While I was expecting mudslinging and bitter grapes, he articulated his time with Mariah as complimentary, and really respects her status in music history. He obliviously wants to remove the tarnish she has put on his name by ignoring his contribution. I feel really bad. I don't enjoy this either. I hope Mariah being elated with the recent success is in a better place emotionally where she has healed. I work love for them to work together. As much as I enjoy Mariah working with new partners, her work with Walter A is undisputed. The both of them are exceptional together. Price Sisters plus Melanie Daniels (91,814) by ADAM from USA Along with working with Walter A, I would love for Mariah to work with these ladies again. As talented as Mariah's backup singers currently are, they don't hold a candle to the Price sisters plus MD. The soulful, wall of sound they produce on any record is so beautiful especially against Mariah's airy, girly tone. MC video in Aspen (90,564) by ADAM from USA That video was so weird - she’s so child like. I sense that Michael Jackson stunted growth vibe from her. I wonder about how much of an adult she is. She was very nice and talkative with the boys. Seemed genuine. I wish this side of her was what she exhibited. She’s had an amazing talent that is only overshadowed by her ego. So many people on this board want to treat MC like an infant when in fact she's a fully formed adult. These were all situations she's participated in and even filmed for her docu-series. Mariah obviously keeps herself in a self imposed bubble - void of any truth - wrapped in plastic. Only she can post in IG clearly doctored phtos of her bikini ready body, days after the world saw her splashed in St Barts wearing that oh so flattering black wetsuit. I really don't get her. It's like she courts the bad publicity on purpose. We know she's 50. We've seen her for almost 30 years. Enjoy your life. Look sexy. Who cares? I wish she'd just stop with the veneers and victimhood attitude. Stella and her team were around as long as they were because Mariah enabled it. Mariah is not a lamb. Re: A lengthy meditation on the album (86,306) (86,319) by ADAM from USA First off Chris1992, what a beautiful, detailed assessment of Mariah's latest album and overall status. It was very heartfelt and interesting to read. I felt exactly the way you did probably in 2008. However now, I feel the opposite. I think the Mariah we see and hear now is the one she always was. I think Caution is finally the album she always wanted to create. She's a master lyricist and yes her voice is gone. However, she's learned how to adapt her lower register which is still beautiful to fit the mold of today's climate of music. As much as we all love her golden voice, no one is in more pain over its demise than Mariah herself. I can't imagine the guilt she must feel over her voice. However, I've learned to let it go and enjoy her music for what it is. Everything she does at this point is always a choice. It not a necessity. She will eventually not be here anymore and I want to remember and enjoy her for what she was and is. I personally love the Caution album. The production is great and seamless. I never skip any song. I think its what Memoirs tried to be. I hope she continues to let Jay Z and Roc Nation guide her. Tommy Mottola was right in his autobiography. I remember a section when he said he always encouraged MC to produce alot of work and stay in the studio and be with the right people because his work as an executive he knew that all artists hit a creative wall and no longer produce their best work so basically strike while the irons hot. Her knew her voice/talent was in its prime and worked overtime to protect that. I'm so glad Tommy was in her life when he was because if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have her best work, let alone the Christmas album. It's amazing how many points Tommy was behind in her career which made Mariah the superstar she is. Christmas album, Hero, Walter Afansieff, etc. (Tuesday 20 November 2018; 21:38)
