Re: Rarities tracklisting - real? (95,257) (95,258) by LEOlamb from USA
I don't believe "I Pray" would end up on 'The Rarities' as if everyone remembers Mariah let that little kid record and perform it on the Oprah show back in the day. Paul Robbins, recorded and performed it, I remember feeling how amazing it would have been if Mariah did the opening lyrics

Lord I pray
That in my lifetime
There will come a day

It gives me goosebumps.

Re: Mariah's writing style, vocabulary and personal (95,232) (95,244) by LEOlamb from USA
You totally missed the point. (Ir)Regardless of Mariah's choices (ie drinking, image change, friends etc), some fans seem stuck on the early 90's. If that is not who Mariah is/wants to be what is the point of just trashing her?

I'll forever be a fan/lamb, I'm not just a fan of her music, I'm also a fan of her. I don't need her to have another #1 record, #1 album or sold out shows.

Mariah's writing style, vocabulary and personal (95,232) by LEOlamb from USA
Whenever I see people talking about how Mariah has changed since early 90's. Her [lyrics], her [vocab] in her lyrics and differences in her attitude and so forth. Put some perspective here. It feels like you're saying you rather controlled Mariah, Tommy and the label defining what kinda artist she would become. How it impacts a person (you have every right to like one style of music over the other). [We're] going to find out so much about Mariah the person with her [memoir], but to me. I feel like some would rather sad, controlled, depressed Mariah so they could have another Hero, Emotions, Dreamlover and so forth.

She was an abused [woman] from who she could hang with, where she could go, what she could do, what she could release etc. M has even said if she could have gotten the respect that Mary J gets in the field of R&B she would have traded all the records she's broken.

Just because you're good at something specific doesn't mean you have to do it. Mariah is worth [an] est. 300-550 [million] dollars with a pretty lucrative catalog. She will make the music she wants, support it or don't.

Re: Another take on the voice (95,229) (95,230) by LEOlamb from USA
I agree that Mariah's voice has "aged", but I firmly believe Mariah is held to a different standard.

I also think that part of the issue is Mariah has extreme insecurity and rather just have fun with it and roll with it appears somewhat awkward and people can nit/pik the performance. She can sing the alphabet out of tune with bad pitch and I'll still buy it.
