Dressing Mariah's children (38,216) by Lee from UK Now, I'm not a parent so I don't have children of my own. However, I do believe that Monroe is the worst dressed child I have ever seen. Roc is always pretty well styled by Mariah and Nick, but when it comes to Roe, they need to sort that out. You would never find Suri Cruise or the Jolie-Pitt children looking like that. Mariah and Rosie (38,133) by Lee from UK I have just been watching Mariah being interviewed by Rosie O'Donnel in 1997. I love the way Rosie and Mariah can just sit there and chat like they are old friends. I love the stories about Mariah before she was famous, such as the girl who stole Mariah's Smurfette doll, and the time she used Sun-In and her hair went as orange as her blow dryer. Even though Mariah wasn't too happy with her performance of My All, as she thought it was "raspy" due to all the smoke she inhaled at a benefit the night before, she still sounded amazing. All I've Ever Wanted (38,118) by Lee from UK All I've Ever Wanted, for me, is Mariah's best ballad for sure. Her voice on this track is immaculate from start to finish. Her huge vocals shine through and I only hope that one day she will surprise us all by performing this live and nailing it. (Saturday 1 June 2013; 21:42)

enwar00 - Fourth of July (38,070) by Lee from UK You're right, it would be quite fitting if Mariah sang Fourth of July at the Fireworks Spectacular. However, it's not the kind of song that will translate well into a live performance. It is definitely a creation for the studio only. If Mariah was to perform it live, it would be heavily layered with her own vocal harmonies and she will once again be accused of lip syncing. In addition, the song is very very breathy which again, doesn't translate well to a huge audience who know her for her powerful vocal gymnastics. I imagine whatever she performs, it will be a pre recorded effort again; just like when she performed the National Anthem for the Superbowl. (Wednesday 29 May 2013; 14:51)

Did I watch a different version? (38,040) by Lee from UK I don't know what people heard on #Beautiful at GMA. I thought Mariah sounded great and Miguel wasn't out of key, he was singing his own harmony. The high notes at the end sounded amazing and the camera wasn't in the crowd the whole time either. The camera was totally focused on Mariah's face during the high notes I don't know If i watched the dubbed West Coast version, but the video on YouTube is called "Mariah Carey & Miguel #Beautiful Good Morning America 5-24-2013 GMA". Once again, I would say this performance was actually really good in my opinion and the high notes were strong and all in tune. (Saturday 25 May 2013; 20:22)

GMA (38,028) by Lee from UK Now that's what I'm talking about. Live performances are the only way to go. Mariah sounded good. She didn't sound perfect, but at least it was live. I love the "Always be my baby" segment, especially with the Disneyland photo of her and Nick at the end. God bless the recorders who upload to YouTube. In addition, she handled the wardrobe malfunction pretty well. (Friday 24 May 2013; 20:02)

Live variations (37,945) by Lee from UK For me, Mariah's studio recordings are amazing, she has time to perfect them and make them sound amazing. She can layer her vocals and weave intricate melodies which are beautiful. As the production on a lot of Mariah's songs is so complex, they are impossible to interpret live. In my opinion (and I'm not an expert) when it comes to singing live, Mariah should sing simpler versions of the songs that don't require her to sing over her own pre-recorded vocals. There are many things you can do in a studio that will not translate into a live performance. Nobody will get upset if the live version of a song is not completely like the studio version, because nobody can be that unrealistic. If Mariah is having a bad voice day, she can do what she used to do with Can't Let Go and forsake the high notes for something different. I used to enjoy the fact that Mariah's live performances were always so different to the studio versions and I would collect them just to hear the tiny variations in the melodies or the different technical choices she would make as if she was thinking of it on the spot. Undubbed (37,918) by Lee from UK I've just listened to the undubbed fan recording of the American Idol Medley. Sure it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't awful either. Why on earth she chose to edit together a mash up of different recordings to create this fake product is beyond me. She should have just chose the best out of the 3 and put that one out for all to hear. I don't think anybody was fooled by the production trickery. (Saturday 18 May 2013; 13:20)

Brandon, Jono (37,905) by Lee from UK Mariah made such a big deal about getting vocal rest before performing on the Adventures of Mini tour. That didn't work out too well for her then. ono, I don't think we expect Mariah's voice to be as strong as it once was. But why doesn't she just let us hear her voice the way it is now? We don't expect it to be perfect, we just expect it to be live. Whether her performance is really good, or really bad, we don't care. We just don't want her to think that she has fooled us into thinking she is singing live when, as fans, we know for a fact that it was either lipped or over dubbed. (Friday 17 May 2013; 23:02)

Dubbing (37,904) by Lee from UK To me, Mariah's Idol performance was disappointing. The medley wasn't well constructed at all and with Mariah constantly bragging about how much production she does, this aspect of the performance underwhelmed me. In addition, the cutting and pasting together from different live performances to create one overly dubbed performance is embarrassing and cringe worthy to watch. Nobody who watched that on TV could possible believe that it was live. The whole thing to me was shocking. Here she is the voice, the diva, the inspiration who has been coaching these singers on performing live. Hold up, what's this? You're taking three takes to ensure a perfect performance? Then 20 minutes later Candice and Jennifer Hudson come on stage and completely slay it live. I don't know why I expect big things from Mariah anymore. I just keep on hoping one day her performances will make me feel like I used to when I was a teenager. (Friday 17 May 2013; 22:51)

Pre-recording (37,883) by Lee from UK This smells very fishy to me. I know they are pre-recording Keith's performance too, but it sounds to me like a lot of over-dubbing and post production vocals may be added in. I hope I'm wrong. Beautiful vs sexy (37,810) by Lee from UK In my personal opinion, you can be beautiful without being sexy. Just because she's "fucking beautiful" doesn't mean we need to see Mariah flash her crotch. I am not being particularly prudish here and I don't take offence to it either, I just think that junk should be saved for Nick. (Friday 10 May 2013; 22:41)

Uh oh (37,783) by Lee from UK I like the summery feel to the video for Beautiful (the hashtag leaves a bad taste in my mouth). The colours and lighting are wonderful, but what on earth are all the vanity shots about? Sure Mariah looks hot, the hottest she has ever looked in fact, but when will Mariah once again produce a video with a story line? Miquel looks completely sinister throughout the whole video, but the very first word he sings is accompanied by an expression I can't even give words to. My worry is, Mariah has been on the worst dressed list ever since Honey, people often complain that the she doesn't dress appropriately for her age, her shape, whatever. Then during American Idol she has been so well dressed and always looked stunning. I fear that the ensemble she wore on the back of that bike is going down in history as the second worst thing she ever wore. The first being the whole wardrobe from the TAOM Tour. Fresh (37,756) by Lee from UK I have had this song on repeat ever since I downloaded it; in the kitchen, on the laptop, in the car, in the gym. It's beautiful to listen to with the top down in the sun. I really do enjoy this tune and it is definitely fresh. There is nothing like this on the radio in the UK at the moment. It's a shame the UK just don't seem to take very well to Mariah's music. Geronimo, I must conceed that I am not musical at all. I do not have a musical bone in my body, but I do know what I like to hear. As a receiver of music, I instantly get a good feeling about the things I like. If I like a song, I like to pick them apart and listen to the complexities of them, which is an enjoyable thing to do with a lot of Mariah's songs, because of her vocal layering and harmonies. #Beautiful (37,717) by Lee from UK I enjoy the song but, like some others, feel it's too short. It's crying out for another verse and another chorus. There was a review which suggested this song was similar to Dreamlover; I just don't hear it. On the bright side, it sounds simple enough to sing live so we should be in safe hands if she decides to perform it on Idol. It would be pretty amazing if the winner of Idol gets to add a verse to this song. (Monday 6 May 2013; 17:40)

Will, Chase (37,685) by Lee from UK Will, I literally laughed out loud at "cause you're hashtag beautiful". Chase, I agree Idol has kept Mariah's name in the public 's mind and this can only help single sales. I think since the whole J-Lo swap rumours, Mariah has upped her game when it comes to talking to the contestants as a judge. I don't think Nicki has ruined Idol for her, I just think Nicki is more suited to it than Mariah. It's just a shame that Mariah is more qualified to give the critiques. I did enjoy Mariah's dig at Nicki's lack of number ones though. (Saturday 4 May 2013; 15:05)

Jimbo (37,594) by Lee from UK Hi, I started googling Mariah gifs when E! Online began the Mariah vs Nicki "Who is the most gifable" competition. I don't think they continued it past the first 3 or 4 audition episodes though. They are funny. My personal favourite is the "I rebuke it" gif and the "cool bean salad" one. Oh and the one where she is walking though the door in sunglasses and flips her hair in a very diva-like way. (Sunday 21 April 2013; 16:15)

Even though I didn't enjoy the music, I loved the Rainbow persona, as she looked amazing and was so much fun to watch. I think that Mariah would have been amazing on Idol. Stephen (37,554) by Lee from UK This could be a cultural thing, us British have never really been the type of people to shy away from confrontation. Just look at Gary Barlow and Simon Cowell (and dare I say it, Maggie Thatcher). For some reason American talent show judges like to sugar coat their critiques. Mariah is the Paula Abdul of season 12. Kelly Clarkson (37,551) by Lee from UK Kelly's on stage moment with Mariah was too cute. Did mariah say that Kelly had sung more of her songs than she had? I've never been the biggest fan of Kelly, but I do love how her and Mariah share a lot of fans. Kelly does a request section of her show where the fans can request that she sings a specific song and more often than not it ends up being a Mariah song. I often don't appreciate other people singing Mariah songs, but Kelly does them so well. (Saturday 13 April 2013; 12:13)

Judging (37,543) by Lee from UK Having just watched the first of this week's shows, I feel my opinion on Mariah's judging style has been vindicated. She has said herself that she was reprimanded by the powers that be for being "too nice" and not providing enough helpful criticism. Watching her trying to help Lazaro improve his performance was painful but ultimately, what she eventually got around to saying was helpful (finally). What she said to him was literally what I wrote a couple of days ago on this board. It's about helping them to improve for their next performance. Maybe she just needs more practise at it, unfortunately there isn't enough time. (Friday 12 April 2013; 11:46)

Carla (37,533) by Lee from UK Hi Carla. I take your point and respect your opinion. However, I disagree with your point about Mariah saying "Your voice is more for Pop", "you're more country". Rather than this being insightful, as you said, I find it more akin to pointing out the obvious. We don't need to be paying anybody $18 million to sit there and point out the obvious. That's what Nicki and Randy are there for. In my humble opinion, Keith is the most critical and insightful person on the panel and I don't just mean negative criticism, he is constructive and more often than not gives the singers something they can work on, as opposed to simply describing their performance like the other judges do. I mean look at poor Lazaro. Instead of telling him how to get better or how to improve his singing, Mariah talks about how courageous he is coming back on stage week after week. That's not constructive or helpful in anyway. Surely the judges with their wealth of experiences, skills and abilities should be able to give him something to work on. Btw, I want Candice or Amber to win. (Wednesday 10 April 2013; 22:30)
