About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

Re: You know you're a Mariah fan when... (74,501) (74,512) by Mara from United States
Aw, congratulations Jade. Sounds like an amazing unforgettable "moment". That is one party I would have lived to have been at. What amazing friends you have, as we know not all our friends share the same dedication and love for MC but do them to do that for you shows they know how much of a lamb you are and how much you must mean to them for them to put that together. Sounds very festive as M would say. Congrats again.

Re: New collaborators / berhana (74,464) (74,471) by Mara from United States
That's a very good perception May. We know Mariah was seen reading a Joan Crawford book and often mentions watching Mommie Dearest not to mention how Joan was known for this glamour Hollywood diva role and we know what she went through with ageism as well as the other female actresses. I'd hate to think she knows it and tries to emulate her at all. We already know the fascination with Marilyn and Mariah. All these incredible talented actresses lived in these lonely worlds and had diamonds galore but battled their own demons behind their massive walls. Just hope MC can find the happiness she so deserves and maybe she saw that this Tanaka, billionaire's fiancé, reality star role whatever is not for her and that she really is all about the music. Come back Mariah. By the way, her recent picture looks great. She looks vibrant and yes we still have diamonds but her lady friends do look a little smaller so she may have lost a bit of weight.

Re: Possible collaborators (74,378) (74,419) by Mara from United States
I would love a new Babyface song, so I would add him to the list. Toni Braxton would sound amazing. Maxwell was always a dream duet of mine. There was a time I remember Mariah saying she was a fan of Hole back in the 90's and when she and Brett were pretty close he had Courtney Love and Mariah at some events together. I used to think that would be a cool collaboration and bring out the rock side of MC. Steven Tyler mentioned loving to do a song with MC recently too. Jazmine Sullivan, Mike WiLL Made again, David Morales, The Dream for a song. Someone mentioned Santana and I think that would be amazing. I'd love something with a Latin flair or Hips Don't Lie or a sexy Latin beat. I'd love to see her work with someone lik Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys or Rick Nowels for a darker sound in terms of song mood. I'd like to see her look outside the box for at least one or two songs. Something unexpected or non predictable. As far as a jazzy cover, I always wanted to hear her do "Autumn Leaves". That song always makes me think of "Miss You Most" with the reference to the season and I think her voice would sound amazing and haunting on that song. "My Funny Valentine" would also fit MC.

New era (74,372) by Mara from United States
Speaking of new eras, I wish MC would reemerge looking sexy, yet sophisticated. No more of this 40something trying to remain relevant giving the press and social media people an easy target to focus on saying she is desperate for attention. Mariah has always been such a natural exotic beauty with mixed heritage to die for. She has amazing genes and does not need all the in your face trying to be sexy style she has rocked in 2016. I admit in 2017 she has looked a lot better. I hope she comes back out with a "yeah I'm 40something but I look amazing and I ooze sex appeal without even lifting a finger". Idolriah was a prime example. The classyriah is youthful and beyond beautiful and I don't know what it is about Mariah Carey or how, but when she does the less is more or less boobs, less diamonds, she looks 10 years younger, but she does. I also would love Mariah to come out and not be afraid to cover up or be confident and classy. I think she would be a force to recon with and it would show all the less important that she is a legend that is drop dead gorgeous all on her own that she doesn't need to try so hard that's how beautiful she knows she is. Since Tanaka and Nick and even Packer are all behind her now, move forward, dress in a way all of them are not used to. Don't look to Stellawhatshername to give you fashion guidance because her clothing is repetitive and boring. Come back with a vengeance, jazz it up, be the old Hollywood diva with the class that oozes through your veins, like fine wine you get better with time. Age is nothing to be ashamed of, if you look as good as Mariah Carey at her age, you should be proud of it. Embrace it, now is a chance to change it up a bit. Let these people see what they are all missing. Ok, sorry - too much wine, but MC we know you have been MIA so now is the time to change it up a little. LYM.

New album (74,370) by Mara from United States
Will made some good points and possible details about the new deal and label. I hope MC did not just add Stella whatsherface to the record label and therefore she is tied to all future releases on this new label. This is Mariah's hard work and profession here. Stella should not be added just because if that is even what is going on. I will wait to see if more details ever emerge. We do know how she attached herself with All I Want and the Magic Carpet. I'm sorry but Stella has no place with Mariah's music. Again, not sure on the details but that would make sense with what Will mentioned and the singles route by giving Epic the out if they do not agree with what Mariah wants to push as far as anything other than the album she may contractually owe Epic. Which leads me to also be a little skeptical about the announcement of the new album. I precisely remember MC saying on that Facebook live video that she wants to focus on singles and not an album any time soon so forgive me if I am a little hesitant on excitement for a new body of work. I will not set myself up to be let down and that is in no way a stab at MC. I just am craving a complete album that she is ready to put out and not a bunch of "I Don'ts and Infamouses" and I don't know if she has that for us. She said it herself so all of a sudden she will have an album later this year. I am not setting myself up just yet. Better to be happily surprised than let down. All in all, I hope MC is in a good place and wish her positivity with this "break-up". Now if only she would clean house on some others, things might feel more like an era ready for an impact.

Re: What I don't get about MC's networth (74,029) (74,040) by Mara from United States
I really think Mariah is going to regret signing this on with Stella. This is Mariah's and her children's ticket in years to come and if this movie actually does take off or become a classic, Stella will always get part of the royalties. Say she and Stella finally have that falling out and Mariah is finally "done" with her and puts up that wall, she will always be tied to her with her favorite time of year. For MC's sake I do hope it does well, dumb move on Mariah's part, smart one on Blusherella.

Happy happy birthday Mariah (73,993) by Mara from United States
Yes I know, anniversary. But today is the first day, a new day for a new year. I hope you are celebrating and enjoying life with people who love you and especially those two beautiful little miracles. I hope the next year is blessed with new beginnings, health, happiness, success and inner peace. Thank you for being right there with me whether you knew it or not for 27 years. We always have your back, no matter what, even if we tell it like it is sometimes. LYM our original diva, the one, the absolute only Miss Mariah Carey.

Re: Mariah doesn't sing unless cued (73,877) (73,880) by Mara from United States
I have to agree with this as well. I remember her singing in that mic starting right at Luther like she was watching his cues. I also remember her singing that way with Whitney when they performed WYB live. She always seemed to be a bit reserved and respectful. Mariah never came off as a showoff and was classy with her performances with other legends. With Luther and that live performance, I think he seemed thrilled that she was "killing it" on stage with him. That glorious Luther smile said it all when she went there. Agree with RibbonB too, where is our Luther of this generation?

Re: New All I Want For Christmas animated movie (73,825) (73,826) by Mara from United States
I'm wondering if this is too much at this point. I don't want to see this timeless, iconic staple of a song become a cliche' this far into its career. Seems like she tried it with the book and maybe it didn't do what she thought it would do, or this may have been the plan all along, to release the book and the movie at a later date. She could have always done the movie a few years down the line away from the book to spread it out a little, but she does need to keep bringing in money to her brand also.

Re: Wasted songs (73,744) (73,749) by Mara from United States
Have to agree with Andrew on this too. If we don't get the deep retrospective type song, I also am craving another It's Like That or Beautiful with more Mariah. That timeless different sound was so refreshing. I liked the freeness of Loving You Long Time and I'm That Chick. Meteorite was totally unexpected too. Something fresh and fun for the upsoming Spring/Summer months.

Re: Singles mean? (73,743) (73,748) by Mara from United States
Ugh, if only. I think that's what a lot of us are really craving right now Randy. No offense but the rapper styled song has been so overdone and I'm ready for another Petals, UTS, Butterfly, Languishing, Close My Eyes, Reflections, Til The End Of Time, something...

Butterfly (73,725) by Mara from United States
I really hope Mariah doesn't waste this opportunity to "make the world remember" and perhaps introduce new fans to the masterpiece. If she doesn't recognize this masterpiece for what it is for its 20th anniversary I will feel she really missed out. No offense to MC but I doubt she will release another career defining album/moment like Thee Butterfly anytime soon, so please remind the world who you ar and what you indeed are capable of. On a side note: Do we think Stella owns a copy of Butterfly? Hmm, I wonder. Does Mishka know what Mariah is capable of? Mariah, LA, release a remastered copy of Butterfly, give unreleased material, raw material, unedited, whatever. But something with new packaging. Mariah, don't let this opportunity pass you by. This album is too damn good to not pay any attention to the anniversary of its greatness. It could literally still be played today and put all the "current" it people to shame. And I must say this, I wish there was a yearly or five year event of a gettogether of the MCA people. I so would attend that. MimiL, I would love to actually converse with you among others in person. Would be fun.

Re: Most played MC song in iTunes (73,714) (73,724) by Mara from United States
Martyn our musical taste as far as MC songs are almost identical. I think you were one of the George Michael fans too if I'm not mistaken or was that someone else? I know there are a few of us on here. I love "Til the end of time" along with The Wind and a fav yearlong Christmas song would have to be The First Noel (Born is the King).

I saw her post too on twitter earlier today and now it seems it has been taken down. This seems to be a pattern with Danielle though. She will post something and deletes the tweet like she is nervous it will stir something. If Stella is behind this she is really no good and has no care at all. Danielle though, please don't back down what you think. If someone has done you wrong, don't let them intimidate you and remove your real opinions.

Re: Article: Mariah and the twins hit the Kids' Choice orange carpet (73,579) (73,586) by Mara from United States
Edward I said the same thing when it comes to Nick. Anyone who doubts it should look back at the interview she most recently did with Kathy Lee and Hoda. As soon as Nick's name came up, her eyes lit up and that genuine realness came through that you just can't fake. Same as it did on the episode of MW that Nick and his mom were on and as we most recently saw on the red carpet. I do believe Stella stormed into Mariah's life when she was incredibly vulnerable and low. I honestly think this divorce hurt Mariah more than she let on, and she never really let herself get over it. I hate that Stella may be taking or has taken advantage of that. Even if she felt she is being good for MC and empowering her or whatever, she should be encouraging her to let her breathe a little. This codependency is not healthy and not lying MC heal from her marriage dissolving. But again, it may be Mariah herself who doesn't want to face the reality or abandonment of being alone. I do remember while she was married to Nick and towards the end she would often refer to him as the "abandon-er" and especially now that all her prior circle is gone, she has no one but Steller to fill that void. Apparently Tanaka isn't enough.

Winter storm Stella (73,585) by Mara from United States
So my fellow east coast friends, we are bracing ourselves for the storm of the last two decades per our weather channel. Of course it is named Stella. Too bad MC wasn't in her NYC apartment as these storms are few in NYC and I'm sure Roc and Roe would love to sit in and watch the city blanketed with snow. It's a shame MC has pretty much given up her New York card for Stel-LA Land.

Re: If the price is right: question for lambs (73,577) (73,584) by Mara from United States
Marissa isn't really answering your question or maybe it is, I don't think I could literally give up everything, but it does seem like Stella isn't in a way. She - Stella - is the one who seems to live her life just fine and have her father around, her sister, her cousins, whomever and it's MC who take around Stella too. It really is strange. I wanted to point out that literally since Stella was introduced and played a part in Mariah's life, that we seriously haven't seen MC out once anywhere without Stella behind. I really find that alarming. It's almost like Stella has to always be in somewhere watching. Why? I don't care who you are, why do you need someone with you 24/7? It just makes you feel like MC is on house arrest or something or Stella is the gatekeeper. I can't understand why she can't even go to something like he likes of the Kids Choice Awards with her children and their father and not have Stella and her daughters there. Ok, maybe Stella wanted her two to be there since the kids. Everytime I think MC is actually out without her, there is a car or a sighting of the black hair or the black leather jacket somewhere. It really has been every single MC outing since this woman has been around. She is never without her.

The Wind, Never Forget You, Candy Bling (73,427) by Mara from United States
So I've been thinking a lot about a high school ex boyfriend who has passed away three years ago and the lyrics to these songs all fit perfectly with him as I have noticed along the years. I know Mariah had a friend that passed away in high school. Does anyone remember anything more on this? Perhaps this was her first love? The lyrics in Candy Bling how she mentions thinking about the tenth grade and then the eleventh when they went "doggy fresh all the way to heaven". She really takes you there with those lyrics of the care free moments in life and young love when everything was simple and the butterflies came whenever you were around that person. This is what I am craving from MC like only she can do. I have never listened to anyone else that can take you there like Mariah. Candy Bling captures that essence and The Wind is a jazzy beautiful song that expresses her grief very hauntingly. It's things like this that reminds me to forget the outfits and antics and just remember how immensely talented she is. Never Forget You I still feel is about someone who is no longer here too. I just wonder if that person was a first love who passed away.

Re: Mariah Carey covers album (73,425) (73,426) by Mara from United States
I really wish Sony would do something too. A covers album, rare songs, duets. I would love a mastered version of her performance for the Stevie Wonder tribute "You and I". Her voice gives me literal chills when it comes through the speakers on that song.

Re: Mornting (73,372) (73,409) by Mara from United States
Well I guess that one was for me Danny. I only recently started using twitter in the past year or so, so I haven't seen her say that as it was Mishka for the most part. Of course I know "moments", but I'm taking it that she captioned things with Mornting before but I haven't been on twitter since before Mishka running her social media, however I can totally see her doing that though especially knowing she is a Tyler fan and letting it be her way of letting us know she herself posted the pic. It's just been so long that Mariah herself hasn't been doing any real online stuff that it was easy to assume It was a typo I suppose.

Well that's a relief, lol. I do remember Madea saying it now come to think of it. I guess I'm too used to the Mishka misspells that I immediately thought it must have been her.
