Lime
In this month's issue of Lime Magazine from Singapore is a cover story of Westlife. Bryan McFadden talks about their latest album, "Coast To Coast", and their collaboration with Mariah. Here's an excerpt from that interview: Lime: Has collaborating with Mariah Carey on "Against All Odds" helped Westlife break into the US market?
Bryan: [Defensively] No! The track isn't released in the US yet and it won't be 'til next year.
Lime: Is "Against All Odds" the last cover tune we'll hear from Westlife?
Bryan: It depends. We might do one for charity, but at this moment there aren't any covers on "Coast To Coast".
Lime: What was your first meeting with Mariah Carey like?
Bryan: Good! We talked a lot about our music, our successes... basically we just swapped pointers! Then she suggested maybe we could do a duet and invited us to sing with her at Wembley Stadium. That was it, really. She was nice and allowed us to get involved in the recording of the duet. She didn't control the whole situation and even asked us which bits we'd like to sing!
Lime: So rumours of friction between Westlife and Mariah aren't true then? [She apparently called the boys "egotistical"!]
Bryan: [Easily] Nah! Not at all. It's all rubbish.
Lime: We hear you annoyed Mariah at the dinner table. Has your cheekiness gotten you into any other trouble with her?
Bryan: No, I'm not cheeky! Heh heh! Mariah was just eating snails or some gooey thing of that sort, and I said it looked like snot! And she was like, "Don't say that! I can't eat it now! I feel sick!" And she made me finish it all up! She even fed me like a baby 'til the very last scoop!
