Mariah steps out (sort of)
Mariah Carey, still recuperating from her breakdown, emerged from her Tribeca condo yesterday afternoon. Dressed in baby blue, the songbird snuck out a side door after a half-dozen beefy bodyguards scoped out the terrain. Carey, who checked out of Connecticut's Silver Hill hospital last week, jumped into an SUV loaded with garment bags and her dog.
Meanwhile, Mira Sorvino is standing by Carey, but admits they had words while shooting the movie "Wise Girls". "We had one verbal argument, one day," the Oscar-winner tells celebrity scribe Robin Milling. "There was no physicality whatsoever - as if you could really imagine me rolling on the ground and pulling her hair out, as The National Enquirer said. My mother called me and said, 'What's this? I read that you were on the ground with Mariah Carey!' I said, 'Mom, how can you, of all people, believe that?!'"
The Harvard grad and producer of "Lisa Picard Is Famous," which had its New York premiere on Wednesday, claims she and Mariah are on good terms, adding: "I'm very sorry for the recent troubles that she's experiencing. I think she'll come out of it fine. She's a very smart person." (New York Daily News)
