Article: Mariah Carey and Anderson .Paak grab dinner at Nobu in Malibu (113,934) by Bobby A from United States
I hope Anderson .Paak is giving MC some guidance on how to get back to the core sound of her first ten albums. I feel going back to her core sound would bring her career full circle. MC17 might be her last chance for another Grammy.

What a breath of fresh air MCA is (113,933) by Syed from UK
Much appreciated Carlos and good luck finding them, a lot of the Mariah song titles are easy to spot, but there's two that are so tricky I'm not entirely sure they'll ever be discovered. I started work on it in summer of 2023 and filmed it twice - first in Kuala Lumpur, then Bangkok, before taking a break and resuming in 2025 here in the UK. The downside of being a perfectionist I guess haha. Regarding your question, there isn't actually a specific Mariah era it's based on. I made sure to include song titles from every era, and every album, including Glitter.

Glitter anniversary (113,932) by Bobby A from United States
We should get detailed anniversary news some time in July. This is how she gifted us for the Music Box anniversary. I think we were all shocked MC crafted such a great anniversary collection.

What a breath of fresh air MCA is (113,931) by Carlos from United Kingdom
I watched it. I found 10 of the hidden MC songs on first viewing, but I am going to watch it again later. I will be seriously doubting my Lamb status if I do not find more than 10. Other Lambs are already at the 30 mark. Best of luck with this Syed, it is very creative and I am sure it must have taken a lot of time and effort.

Can I ask which Mariah era it's mostly based on? Most ones I got were from "Emotions" album era and "Daydream". It would be good if Glitter was represented with the anniversary coming up.

We could only hope for. It would be nice if Mariah would drop something new for Glitter. I mean, I truly love this album.

Death Becomes Her (113,929) by jaker20 from US
Where have you been in the last 25 years. That ship sailed right around Rainbow, unless you think her chest is natural. She's already morphed into a Pamela Anderson (the 90s version) right after Rainbow, which then morphed into Barbie-Playboy Bunny after the success of TEOM.

She usually looked great and natural, and helped by good genes too I guess. But in bad lighting and makeup, which is the case with white dress ensemble, you can tell.

Final album (113,928) by ADAM from USA
I see some messages here speculating about MC17 but I felt HFIA was her farewell song. It seemed obvious from the lyrics to me that she was saying goodbye to many [people] and the world. I think the extraordinary time it took her to put together the cut and paste songs she did across different sessions over 7 years spoke volumes. Her voice is completely changed and unrecognizable from any of her notable works. Not being mean spirited but I wasn't a lamb, you could get me to match Mariah's current voice to most of her bulk catalog. Best example I could think of would be comparing Fantasy to Big Energy remix - wow - that was hard to swallow how metallic her voice became and really doesn't sound like the original version. You expect the voice to darken sure, but she's not being transparent about what really happened. She's the only singer I can think of that has undergone such dramatic changes in her voice like this.

Death Becomes Her (113,927) by Bobby A from United States
MC might look sad for a lot of reasons that we can only speculate here. I believe she is being hard on herself for the lack of a top 15 or better Hot 100 song. Do you remember how happy she looked when TMB and #Beautiful were riding the charts? I hope what she is working on in the studio for MC17 will give her a Hot 100 hit song again. MC wants it one more time for sure. This is just my two cents this weekend because I want MC back on top again. Lol.

Death Becomes Her (113,926) by TJ from Norway
Looking at those pictures of MC in the white dress, makes me a little sad. When I was younger, I hoped that she would age with grace and not fall into this plastic fantastic world of celebrities. Yes, she looks "youthful", but it is not her face anymore. It's like looking at a completely different person, when you compare her 1992 face and now. It looks sad, hurt and soulless. Anyone seen the movie Death Becomes Her?

Article: Kris Jenner and Mariah Carey go glam for dinner at Giorgio Baldi (113,925) by Lambi from USA
That's a bit crass. She's obsessed with being fabulous, yes, but at the core of it is growing up poor and being called ugly as a child. There's also the pressure that comes with being a global superstar, and Nick having a new supermodel by his side every other week probably doesn't help either.

The fact that she did a Hallmark movie with C-list actors debunks the idea that she's focused on maintaining an A-list image at all costs. And looking back after the series of legal battles, James feels more like a "handler" whose actions were meant to derail her wealth and damage her touring revenue via NYE disaster. She probably woke up this and is a lot more careful now on who she lets in.

But fair take with "it's all for the gram, the likes, and access to networks". I'm usually cynical too, but I get the sense that Kris sees Mariah as genuine. Mariah was reportedly the only person who brought Kris a gift on her birthday, and even Mariah's memoir came packaged with a tissue, signaling that she was about to share something deeply personal. I don't think Kris can stomach being fake to someone that's been that openly vulnerable with her.

It might even be the other way around. In an industry full of people putting on a façade, Kris may have found a rare bit of genuine sincerity in Mariah so she really values the friendship. Just a thought to ponder.

Glitter anniversary (113,924) by Bobby A from United States
Do you think MC is creating a Glitter anniversary album unlike any of her other anniversary albums? This is the first time that I can't even predict what she may include with anniversary release. I just know that she never included any previous producers to help her with creating her previous anniversary albums.

What a breath of fresh air MCA is (113,923) by Syed from UK
Thank you so much Carlos, I really appreciate the feedback I hope someday I can make a difference with it and pay Mariah's gift of "hope" forward in other languages, to people in third world countries especially, who've never heard a "Hero" or "Make It Happen" before. Or maybe they did hear but weren't able to comprehend what the lyrics meant.

Ok yes, I see what you mean. Not sure what happened. If you type "We hid 40 Mariah Carey songs" in YouTube search, it will come up. Basically, I created a 3-minute video for my beauty brands' 15th anniversary. Mariah's words of encouragement/hope through her music are the sole reason I persevered through the tough times with it (and there were many of them), so to pay tribute to Mariah, I wanted to weave some of her song titles into the script - since there would be no brand story without her. It's funny, unless you were told beforehand, you wouldn't have a clue when watching it. It's been fun though, there's a scoreboard up for announcing who's found the most hidden songs. Keeps me busy.

Stacey I love what you've written in your last post, it's simple yet beautiful. It's also a relief to see someone openly mention their concern for Mariah's mental health. I started noticing something isn't right with her several years back and mentioned this on another forum or group (can't remember which) and it didn't go down too well. This is why I said and will say again. What a breath of fresh air MCA is.

MusicfanJ 100% yes. If you watch Mariah when she performs at Proctor's Theatre in 1993, she is so full of life and joy. It's almost magnetic. For me personally the saddest thing is that she has given so much hope and love, and she deserves to receive that back tenfold. I hope she gets a lot of love from her friends and from her children. I see someone who for a long time has been increasingly trying to fill their lives with "things" to fill a void inside. But as anyone who understands psychology will know, it can never be filled like that. I wish her healing and contentment. Lord knows she deserves it.

"It's all for the gram and likes and access to networks." That's what I think. I doubt that they are real close friends. I can't stand the Kardashians, they seem like typical nouveau riche. Maybe the mother Kardashian is nice to MC, but it feels a bit strange and fake for me. Why not meeting Cher? She could also be like a mother to MC. Lol.

Syed, your song is very touching from the short clip I heard. It's quite "old school" which I like as not a fan of modern music and I can hear the Mariah influence in it. Can I ask what is the "40 Hidden Mariah songs challenge" you spoke about in your first post? You stated we can catch it here but there was nothing I could see in the post.

Meds / Andrea (113,920) by Carlos from United Kingdom
I never thought of that. I read maybe on here or another forum that "survived a gruesome fall" was Mariah referencing her marriage to Mottola. But this take makes perfect sense too. I hope she releases another memoir. There was a lot of things she did not cover. Also references like "gruesome fall" and other things we have been wondering about which took place after the book release could be explained in it.

I think Mariah is obsessed with status. She wants to be viewed as A-list at all times. James Packer was her fiancée because he was a billionaire and that was an obvious flex. Kris Jenner is A-list in Hollywood for a long time so the associate makes sense. I don't think in reality any of these Hollywood friendships are really deep. It's all for the gram and likes and access to networks. Mariah seems only interested in her looks and wealth since her voice is gone.

MC needs someone who will stick by her side through it all. She may see Kris as a motherly figure who understands heartbreak and being a public figure.

They're neighbors in Calabasas. Kris was one of the people Mariah sent her book to. We can assume she's aware of MC's lack of family support growing up and so I actually appreciated when she rallied the whole entire Kardashian clan to see a Christmas show. Kris' own words: "I'm so blessed and grateful for our friendship." We'll probably just leave it at that. They seem sweet and they really show up for you.

Given the concerns we have for MC's mental health, I think I'd be more worried if Mariah chose to isolate herself rather then spending time with friends. I hope she enjoyed her night out with Kris.

Well, we never know the extent of that injury. Seems it affected her much more than what is shown, I think there are some parallels with Michael Jackson Pepsi incident and how it made him dependent on pain killers. Maybe that on top of her bipolar was a hard combo for her to handle. I think that's why I've always seen her singing "survived a gruesome fall" in Nothing is Impossible from HFIA album as a literal description of that 2013 incident.

1992 Interview (113,913) by MusicfanJ from Germany
For me she seemed the most happy during that time. The early years. Then from 97-99 she seemed also very happy and carefree. So before and after Tommy. As I always say they were a fantastic team for business (perfect) but not good for the private life. I always wonder what would have happened if they had never been a couple and married. Just business partners. We'll never know, but somehow I think some things would be better now.

I was revisiting this concert today. Such a force vocally, a generational talent no doubt. When she breaks into the club remix of "Dreamlover" and starts vibing and adlibbing, wow, what a time to be young and experience that concert. She's practically jogging on stage while belting out. So nostalgic watching her so young and delivering at the max of her powers.

Where is the key for stamina, motivation and good music? (113,910) by Zachariah from Croatia
I think that's a bit unfair. We only see a very small part of her life through media and social networks, so it's hard to know what truly motivates her or who she spends time with. An artist's value isn't measured only by how often they release new music or whether they're constantly in the spotlight. Everyone goes through different phases in their career and personal life.

It's fine to prefer artists who are actively creating new work, but that doesn't necessarily mean someone has lost their talent or motivation. Sometimes what we see publicly doesn't reflect what's happening behind the scenes.

Respectfully, none of us really know her personal motivations or the people she spends time with. Public appearances don't tell the whole story. Talent doesn't disappear just because an artist isn't releasing music at the pace some fans would like, and comparing different artists' careers isn't always a fair measure of success.

You're assuming a lot based on limited public appearances. Being seen dining out doesn't define a person's character, work ethic, or talent. Artists have different career paths, and not everyone needs to follow the same model as Kylie Minogue, Patti LaBelle, or Madonna to remain relevant or successful.
